For those of you in states that require a yearly/multi year state inspection of your Valkyries could you please share the location where you affix your inspection sticker?
I have a '98 standard and am looking for ideas.
Thanks.

In Louisiana you dont have to affix it to your bike, just carry it with your paperwork.  Actually it is almost never asked for if you are stopped, they are mostly intrested in insurance and registration.

I've got clear Baker Air Wings and use the top section on the left side.

We have annual inspections in PA, and mine is presently on the left upper fork.  On my VTX I had an HD stainless inspection plate bolted on that they used.  I still have the plate but have not yet found a suitable place to mount the sticker plate on the Valk .... but the sticker has yet to cause any issues on the Fork.... they are good about placing it and removing it carefully.

I have inspection plates of aluminum, cut to size, and mounted to the front left lower bolt holding the engine guard (behind the radiator hose).  Experience shows that this bolt is tough to get back in without loosening all the guard bolts, so instead of removing it each year, we cut a hole in the sticker for the bolt head and stick it over last year's sticker.

VA law says left front of the bike, and this is close enough (though it faces forward).  In VA they will not hand you the sticker, so the inspection plate must be mounted and ready before the inspection.  I used to run an inspection plate big enough to take the inspection sticker, military base registration stickers, and a VA property tax sticker (almost as big as a MC license plate......... now just the inspection sticker).

On an interstate, the left lower fairing airwing would also be a good spot, but I will not put the dang things directly on MY bike anywhere.

In Texas it has to be visible from the rear of the bike. There is an aluminum plate that mounts under the license plate that many use.

In Massachusetts the inspection sticker is right on the license plate.

Here in Missouri the first year it was on the lower left fork leg. uglystupid2 I DID NOT like that at all. crazy2 Had it done last year at the chopper shop. Wink It now resides on the fork neck behind the fairing. Cool The owner of the chopper shop checked with the Missouri Highway Patrol and it's all good here. Grin And it's easy to tell because the safety sticker is color coded to the tag. cooldude RIDE SAFE.

It's spelled out in each State's DMV regs (generally all lights/brights/signals/headlight aim/brakes (lever and foot), horn, tires, brake pads...), but it depends where you go.  I go to a gas station where they know nothing about bikes at all; we talk about guns, he rights up the paperwork and I pay the money and leave.

Wish they'd do vehicle inspections here instead of emissions testing.  see some SCARY  Shocked crap on the road but its all good because it passed emissions.

There is a plate that I made and mounted it behind the front tire. In the Military we have all kinds of stickers we have to have on the bike. There is room behind it to remove the oil filter with out removing the plate.

Young Pup, I'm with ya there. My cars are allaintained very well but I have an engine light on. Its parked now till I get it cleared up. Converter prob.  It needs a good 500 mile run as I just drove it to work so the converter never really lit off. Theres some absolutely frightful stuff with south-o-the border plates here.
