Just a note to those that are going to need new batteries before the 2012 riding season starts.

You can feel good about buying a domesticaly produced battery. I just bought two new batteries; one for my bike and one for my truck and they were made in this country. I did not have to pay a premium for buying American made batteries versus those made by a foriegn manufacturer or worse yet,...chineese made!

Both batteries were bought at a local battery only retailer here in Metro Detroit. I did not have to pay for shipping and they were competitively priced with non-domestic batteries. But I wouldn't even mind paying $5.00 or $10.00 more just to help keep our economy moving.

You can find these batteries at your local Advance Auto Parts or NAPA Auto Parts store, and if you buy from NAPA they will have the NAPA logo on them.

The batteries were made in the great state of Pennsylvania by DEKA. Check out their website, and the deals on batteries on the Advance or NAPA websites for sale prices and rebates.

There is a place in the next town over , that re-manufactures batteries.... I have been buying from them for years.  A battery for my truck or diesel tractor is $25.  with a 1 year warranty....and they have always lasted 4 to 5 years.  I take my old battery back and they give me a few bucks for it instead of charging a disposal fee.....  Currently running their batteries in everything I own.
