Which manual does everyone suggest for the DIY'er?  I am moderately mechanical, no genius, but I can turn a wrench.

I have a Haynes manual. I also downloaded alot of info from here that walked you through a great deal of the more common repairs and maintanence items. Printed them off and that info is in a folder next to the manual.

BTW Carls complete maintanence guide has been invaluable to me and is highly recommended. Thanks Carl cooldude

I have a Clymer manual and the one from Honda and a LOT of stuff from our tech section and other places on the board i printed off encased in plastic and put in a loose leaf binder. cooldude I find myself reffering to all 3 before starting any procedure on my lady!! coolsmiley The pictures available from those three sources help an awful lot also. Wink  And if all else fails we have a LOT of people on this board that have been there done that. cooldude RIDE SAFE.

I have read alot on the board about repairs and yes, tons of good info there too.
I'm getting close............. I can almost smell the cooling exhaust pipes.  I am going to look at one this weekend and may purchase if everything looks good.  I expect to bring it home and do some PM work during the next few cold weeks to make sure all is well before good weather, so I am anticipating a manual or two.  thanks for the replies. JimmyG-before i get started-Welcome Home Bro. Just this moment took a good look at your avatar. If you have not bought yer fat lady yet there might be folks in your area that would be willing to loan you their knowledge before you lays yer money down. And i am aware of the fact that a lot of people will let you test ride all you want-after you buy the machine. And be ready for the change when you do start riding the Valkyrie. coolsmiley She has been known to take over and change lives. cooldude Again-welcome to the insanity-welcome home and RIDE SAFE.

I don't think anyone limits themselves to just one manual.  There are two primary manuals that most everyone uses.....the Clymer manual and the Honda service manual.

I use several resourses, but primarily refer to five different resourses for info....Cylmer's manual, Honda service manual, Shoptalk, Chet's site and Carl Kulow's Valkyrie Maintanence manual.

Clymer's manual (love the colored wiring diagram....it's indispensable)....

http://www.directlineparts.com/product.asp?pid=399&str=2

The Honda service manual (it's also available for download from Dag's site)....

http://www.directlineparts.com/product.asp?pid=232&str=2

and from Dag's site.....

http://www.valkyrienorway.com/download.html

Carl Kulow's Valkyrie Maintanence Guide (it's absolutely invaluable)....

http://www.rattlebars.com/valkfaq/valkmaintenanceguide.html

and in pdf....

http://www.rattlebars.com/valkfaq/ValkMaintMan.pdf

Chet's Valkyrie site and pages (Rattlebars.....tons and tons of valuable info here).....

http://www.rattlebars.com/mtz/valkyrie.html

http://www.rattlebars.com/valkfaq/

And maybe the best resourse of all......Shoptalk.....

http://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/

Tim Skelton's site has to good stuff too.....

I didn't know that Haynes offered a manual on the Valk.  I know they have one on the 1500 Goldwing, but not one on the Valk that I'm aware of.
