Since the ex moved out and i'm down to the daughter and me and the ex's A T & T contract was up in Jan of 12 and the daughters in Feb of 12 i'm shedding lines and costs. Now mind you i have been with A T & T since 05. Tommorrow i'm retired 3 years. I have been trying to cut costs since i retired with little sucesses here and there. Very little and very small with A T & T. All of a sudden A T & T is pulling discounts and lower priced services out of their a$$e$ since i'm planning on leaving them. They could NOT beat or match what my daughter will get at an outfit called Straight Talk. $45.00 a month for unlimited minutes text and i believe inter net access. Which by the way the ex is already on and likes very much. They have( A T & T)from now until Sep 2012 to TRY and keep me as a customer. When we decided to drop hughes net a couple years ago they were pulling way cheaper plans outa their dirt chute. Before we got the cell phones in 05 had our own 800 #-they magically found discounts when we were ready to drop them. Guess that's the way a lot of folks do business these days. Thanks for lending an ear. Is it July yet?? RIDE SAFE.

I've been with AT&T since 1998. Last year I got really mad and threatened to switch carriers. By the time they were done "Kissing my Arse", I actually felt guilty. I'm paying for 700 minutes per month shared by 3 lines, But with free any mobile to any mobile and the A-list I have almost 9,000 rollover minutes banked. Bottom line they will throw in a lot of "PERKS" to get you to stay.

we have T-mobile, 5 lines (one house with Wi-Fi router, and 4 cells), 1000 anytime minutes, unlimited text for less then $100 a month. i was really ticked off because our house use to be unlimited, but then our bill use to be $120 per month....... we've been with T-mobile for about ten years.

I got straight talk and love it. AT&T got no reception in SD. Kits Straight talk got signal everywhere. From the Hills to the Badlands. I was with AT&T since 1995.

Funny you bring this up now, I just picked up a straight talk android this weekend. I plan to carry it along with my ATT droid to compare coverage until my att contract is up in June then I will decide who to keep.

Dumped Verizon for straightalk. Saved $40 a month. Dumped Hughesnet for local dsl. Faster and saved $45. Droping XM radio next. All this stuff is too expensive after I retired. Burns my bottom on the "deals" they have if you are going to quit. Where have they been?

Basically in a longer way is what i was asking. Why do they wait til you are ready to drop them to roll out the red carpet?? Seems to me in this day and age you MIGHT want to bring on the deals up fronthen try like h3ll to hold those prices instead of raising them. But we all know business be about the BOTTOM line. RIDE SAFE.

I got the Droid straight talk so I doubt it will work in your area since it uses Sprint lines. I'm mainly looking for the unlimited data for google nav, so if I get decent service on the roads I travel ATT is gone for me and may keep it for the wife. I really want to go to Insane however my Son and family who has been overseas over 4 years is planning to come home in July and if it conflicts my Grandson wins.

I've been with Verizone since '93, when the car phone looked like a house phone. We have 3 phones with 2K minutes, unlimited text, unlimited long distance, friends and family, along with a 3G air card for the internet. The cost per month is running around $273.00. I can't wait until those contracts are up, they won't have to volunteer to kiss my ass, as I will be too busy tell them to kiss my ass. They are out'a here.
