When was the last time someone “famous” died and drugs were NOT involved?

I was talking to my wife this morning, and it just seems that if you become a famous person in the public eye, you are required to be a dope head!   I guess having money proves any idiot can be rich!!

Steve Jobs didn't die as a result of drugs, regardless of his use of them.

I tend to agree, Ms. Houston was a great talent, no doubt and will be missed for her talent but, not her chosen life style/choices.  Her demise is being mourned every where I look and yet see few mourning those soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen lost last week.  Their contribution was more directed to continuing and ensuring our freedoms while Ms Houston contributed to our entertainment.  Just keeping things in perspective.

+1, agree and I hate to say it, why is it always the "poor" rich and famous that life only gives lemons too and they take the easy way out? As BA said what about the service men, or how about the guy struggling to make a living in this country? They must be way tougher than the Famous folks, they struggle day to day to feed their family and put a roof over their heads, and the rich have money to throw but cant handle life? WTF. No great loss in my eyes. Sorry if I offend, but to hell with them, the average Joe can make it and has it a lot harder that they ever do.
thats my .02 cents

There are many famous ppl that die w/out drugs.... they just don't grab the headlines.
I can think of many that died of old age or cancer.  In addition, a lot of them aren't quite as headline-grabbing, because they are passed their "heydey."

As an example, Ben Gazzara died of pancreatic cancer about a week before Whitney... did that make the headlines?

She chose the place, she chose the time.
IMHO.
Sad enough for sure, for the folks she left to pick up the pieces.

Headlines, yeah I read about it.  But, not a tidal wave of grief from the media.  Don't get me wrong, I liked her music and recognize her as a world talent but,............................  Well, never mind, we all have our priorities.  I'll grieve for those fighting to keep us safe and free.    We only have one life, what you give it up for says everything about that person.

to be brutally honest I instantly thought the drugs killed her. yeah that's jumping to a conclusion it might have been heart failure or something else. I'm sure many had the same immediate thought.

I'm as guilty as you are on this one. Til we get the autopsy reports i'm still leaning towards  drugs. I actually hope i'm wrong. Most newspapers that i see have military deaths round about page 4 5 or 6. H3ll at one point on my M S N home page which has 7 leading news storys-Whitney houston or something directed to her was on 3 of those pages. And B T W-sad as this sounds-her death did not surprise me. Guess in some ways that makes me kind of shallow. RIDE SAFE.
