Of the birds that have hit my trucks over the years-99% seem like the go for the drivers side. Glad yer O-K. Got an owl once-can't begin to imagine what that turkey sounded like when it hit. Didja have to change your Dr. Dentons??? RIDE SAFE.

My brother got a red tailed hawk once. Hit the mirror and whipped it into the bed-o-the truck.

Can't say I haven't had a few run ins with birds in ground vehicles but, the best/worst one was in the air. About dusk one evening, a turkey buzzard in southern Oklahoma and my helicopter has a meeting. Wasn't pretty, damn bird must have thought I was bait cause it came right in under the rotor system and met the WSPS (Wire Strike Protection System) head-on. Blood and guts were every where. Regardless, I must have won, cause I flew many times afterward, that buzzard didn't.

Me too, was flying Air Rescue out of Shreveport landing in Monroe, dusky dark and BAM the winshield in front of me blacked out. Lots of right pedal and landed out of trim looking out the door glass. Those BO105s are a tough machine. Blood, guts, and feathers everywhere, but no damage.

I gotta face that just looks gullible I guess, but I had a driver tell me one time a truck passed him got a little ways up the road and started driving erratically. he got on the CB and asked if he was ok, the other driver said no a wild turkey flew in passenger window. I'm thinking uhhh, right then he claimed the other driver told him it was still alive! (I'm really not buying it now) the driver claims to have pulled over and helped "shoo" the bird out of his bunk (talk about bunk!) birds are pretty fragile, I don't think one would survive the impact with anything in a truck doing 60+ I nailed a sparrow one time, it flew in front of my truck right at eye level. it juked left, then right and then my windshield went right up it's derriere (I can't believe I spelled derriere right on the first time)

Had a friend of mine i used to drive with had an owl get in the truck with him while going on down the road. Came in the open side window and made for a very interesting minute or so getting the truck stopped and trying to get the owl off of himself. He got chewed up pretty good or bad depending how you want to look at the situation. RIDE SAFE.

My wife's knee caught a sparrow, once. Needless to say the last thing went through his mind was his as* hole. I had blood, guts and feathers all up my back, and she had it all over her side.

Drove through a covey of quail & decapitated one with the radio antenna (it was the 60's). Picked it up & roasted it over the camp stove when I got to my destination. Figure I get a point for neatness...

I was behind Highbinder once when he killed a tweety-bird while riding during DOTs. Don pulled the bird out of his mesh jacket and flipped it in the air. THE Detn8R caught that tweety in mid-air directly in front of me. Just 1 of the many very strange things that ocurred during that particular DOTS...
