I have the rear of the bike taken apart.  When replacing the 3 O-rings on the wheel and hub, do you grease them when you in stall them or they just go on dry?  I also am replacing the thrust washer, does that get grease as well as the dust ring area or only on the splines?  Also, does the dust ring just get pried out?

Summary from the manual:
pack the wheel hub o-ring groove and o-ring with paste
3g of paste to mating surface of wheel hub and final driven flange
apply paste to the the whole surface of the thrust washer
pack the driven flange o-ring groove with paste and coat new o-ring with paste
install regular grease to  dust seal lips
apply 3g of moly final driven flange spliens
apply 1-2 g to the joint surface of the final gear case 0 ring guide and driven flange.

In short fill the o-ring grooves, coat the 0-rings and thrust washer, slather the mating surfaces of the hub and splines.  Make sure its moly paste and not grease.

Make sure to follow the correct torque procedure as outlined in the shoptalk tirechangesplinelube

Got it out.  Now does grease get packed inside that dust seal or around and on top of it?

Not a great pic but are those triangular groves supposed to be there on the driveshaft? I sure hope so.

On the rear drive flange, when I install that back on does that also get packed up with grease?  I want to make sure I lube everything that needs it not lube stuff that doesnt.  If someone wants to give me some "Lube 101" schooling that would apply to most things thats fine.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Yea put grease around the splines. Not in the end of the shaft. I guess theres holes in the end that need cleaned out with a needle.  Undecided Dont forget to lube up the other end that goes into the u-joint. Yes those notches are supposed to be there. Your shaft looks good.  Shocked

I bought the Honda Moly 60 grease and the Bel-Ray Waterproof grease.  The Honda stuff gets used on the front of the driveshaft?  Bel-Ray on pretty much everything else splines etc. including the new O-rings and such?

The drive shaft gets 3% moly grease, NOT 60% moly paste.  The splined connection and associated o-rings and thrust washer between your rear wheel and the rear end gearbox gets 60% moly paste.  The dust seal on your rear wheel should be lubed up with wheel bearing grease where it rides on the spacer bushing.

The dealer sold me the Moly 60 today after asking their service guys what I should use.  I thought the Honda Moly 60 was a grease not a paste?  Ive read so many different suggestions Im not sure which way to go.

I ended up using the Valvoline Synthetic grease on the driveshaft instead of the Honda stuff after reading many reporting that it doesnt last.
