Having served in Uncle Sugars Canoe club surface fleet-rest assured the ocean has NEVER lost. coolsmiley It ALWAYS wins. crazy2 It just allows to travel on her every so often. Wink But she always demands her due. Evil RIDE SAFE.

I have been in 12-- 15 foot seas off the Charleston coast in a 40 footer, 80 miles out, that did it for me.  Embarrassed

Rode a troop ship, The Mitchell, across the North Pacific one winter many years ago, returning from Korea.   Was a lot like that, only with vomit everwhere from the hundreds of sea sick troopies.   Some so sick they couldnt stand up.  Was a long trough urnial transverse mounted below across the stern.  A couple of poor smucks were down with their heads in it and every time the ship rolled a wave of piss and voimit broke over their heads.   Was an experience I will never forget, or want to repeat.  Dont know how high the waves were, but nosing into the troughs the ship would just stall and shudder as the props cleared the crests we just rode over.  I have rode out hurricanes offshore on an oil platform in 400+ foot of water with swells of 50+ feet and it was a picnic compaired to that trip.

Good thing the guy in the bridge can't see anything or he might be scared senseless.
