I would like to request that if you are on the VORTEX (Valkyrie Owners Rescue Team EXcahnce) that you update your information. If your phone number has changed and it hasn't been updated no one can contact you for help. I wish the staff could send out an email to those still on the site asking if they want to continue or be removed. I'm sure many have gone in other directions and are no longer active with our club. I almost always refer to this list when traveling to a Ride In. It is a great tool. cooldude

Vortex?  Maybe I've been under a rock or something, but I've been on this site for several years and never heard of it.  Brief me.

I would not rely on Vortex.  Way to many outdated members in the database.

A better solution would be to call someone who can post for help on the board.....

I am still there and accurate but I wouldn't trust it in most cases.

+1.   With todays communications, within hours people will be helping out.  I experienced this on the way to the VOAI Reunion last year, when I broke a brake line going to our sidecar.  Had several people helping out within a couple hours!

I have done that and received help within 2 hrs.  Good idea.  With an I-phone, you could do it yourself if not out of range.

Perhaps it's time to shut Vortex down, and maybe replace it with a link to the forums and the suggestion that if you need help, get on there and post, or call a friend with computer access and have them post for you?

I had not heard of it either. Seems a same to shut it down but I would update it make it easier to use and not so restrictive. You have to be a member to receive assistance? Seems a little strick.

I still think this is a better way to help people. I'm sure others are like me and don't visit the message board every few hours or days. However, I have my cell phone with me most of the time. I know it would be added work for the Staff to keep it up to date but if it is decided not to do that I agree it should be removed from the board.

Perhaps the easiest on the staff would be to post that the current database will be archived and deleted on XX/XX/2012, any one wishing to participate in VORTEX must resubmit their information after that date.  That would save having to figure out who's still here and who has left, and get the current folks info updated.

My data is still the same but no one has ever called for help. I guess it's a testament to the reliability of our bikes.
