Yesterday, I was looking forward to taking the trike out for a spin before today's bad weather set it. So there I was, cruising along just under the speed limit (55 mph) for these narrow, winding and some what hilly country roads we have and I see this guy come up on me and basically tail-gated me even when I sped up a bit. I finally turned off the road just so I could loose him. Talk about ruining the experience! I mean,, it's not like I was creeping along. At that point, I just headed back to the barn some what disgusted.  tickedoff

Oh well, I just had to vent and this was the only place I could think of were others would probably understand,,,,,.....  Lips Sealed

Mate, there is always a turd in the punchbowl.  You did right to protect your own safety.  I'd like to punch out these clowns... and almost never happens... be happy you got to ride the finest of bike and came home safe... always something good.

On my ride to the Salton Sea last Sat., a fellow told me about laying a golf ball down low as you're cruising and being tailgated. Bounces off the road under the car then super balls the length of the undercarriage, creating huge racket with a certain amount of re-design! Cheesy

last summer i rode the "Dragon" when i came up upon two harley guys.  i was basically coasting behind them, wanting to pass, i'm sure they thought of me the same way you did with your guy.......  they pulled off, i sped by.

i'm just as guilty for letting others tick me off.  we've all got to learn not to let others affect our happiness.

i had one guy tell me; "maybe his wife was having a baby and he had to get to the hospital right away?"  you never know why somepeople are in a hury, but they are.....

I like the M & M's idea along with the tennis ball.  cooldude

I'd worry about using marbles as they my hit another innocent car or truck and possibly, the tailgater might swerve or temporarily loose control and hit an innocent car near bay.  ???

I would be real careful about getting a full-blown road rage incident started. There are crazy people out there.

Yup, and we're far more vulnerable on our bikes then they are in their cars. Let it go. People like that tend to get theirs eventually.

This rarely happens to me, but if it does I wait for a straight piece of dashed line, with a car coming the other way, slow and wave them around.

I agree with just pulling over if possible. The problem I have around here is most of the roads in my area have drainage ditches right next to the road ways. No shoulders at all. It's one of the real negative issues I've always said about this area since I moved here. So the ability to pull over is far between. Throwing any thing really isn't my preferred option.

I have come to realize that there isn't much I can do to stop them. I have also come to the conclusion that I am not going to let some A** hole ruin my day. If I am doing the speed limit or there abouts then they can just stay right close behind me and enjoy the ride. Sometimes I will even slow up a little more so we can all smell the roses a little more along the way.
To let someone get under your skin to the point of throwing stuff at the is just purely childish and not cool. There are too many other things that could cause pain and damage to innocent bystanders.  Why would you want to lower yourself to their levels anyhow?

especially when I am riding 2 up and the road is wet in an area I have never been before I
will go under the speed limit  Heck on most twisty roads I am under the speed limit aint no secret

If I see a car coming up on me quickly I have used my 4 ways and given the go around hand signal but I wont go off the road, but move the the right of center only.

If he (seems always to be a he) wont pass immediately I just ride my ride and sooner or later he will pass

On the open road that hasnt happened to me yet except for that ride from Limon to Denver I waved all the trucks past me as I could barely keep the bike up in the wind and rain

I will wave sports bikes by me when they come up on me on the goat trail, refuse to ride past what I can see and stop safely. Never know when the road will have an accident scene or stopped traffic

Seen too many bikers and cars meet fate and  dont enjoy reliving those moments

here in Florida and certain other municipalities it is the national past time to tail gate.  when I'm in my truck I don't even notice (unless it's another truck) but karma will get these idiots. so I try to be the bigger man and let pass whenever possible.
