Smiley  Well, I bit the bullet and bought a 99 IS Saturday.  The wife and I picked it up and hauled her home and lovingly placed her in the garage. Now, I need a license plate and insurance and good weather.  Wow, who would have thought it!!  Pictures when I get my wifes camera and can figure it out.

I've had mine for 8 years and 42,000 miles, never regretted it once!  I supervalked it about 3 months ago, she still draws crowds @ 13 years old and 51,000 miles.

Thanks guys. SmokinJoe, I live in Waverly, close to I-40.  Yep, personalization must now start. I have to start getting her ready for ridin soon. I'd like to do a good once over and check all the things out and then ride the crap out of it. Oh, and no, it is not one of the slow black ones.

We'll be screamin' by the Hurricane Mills exit ( Hwy.13 ) on the way to InZane. I've been through Waverly many times cutting through going to Cumberland City Fossil Plant.Did you live there back in 1978 when the  L&N train derailed and the explosion killed several folks ? Are you going to InZane ? If not you should  cooldude

SmokinJoe, yep, I was here for the L&N explosion. I worked at the local hospital then and spent a couple days on duty and at the site setting up a portable xray unit to assist ID on bodies. Bad week for us there.
Ya never know, I may just join you for the  InZane gathering. The Hwy 13 exit is a good one to stop and fuel up.

When I bought mine, I hadn't owned a bike in over 25 years.  Had only riden a few other bikes in all that time.  Rode it from the Alabama state line to home.  Parked in the garage and stared at it for about an hour just taking it in that I finally had a bike again.

Congrats on your new toy.   cooldude

I think the 99 still had the MADE IN AMERICA stamp on the right side of the engine.    I used to love showing it to SA Harley riders when they would comment on it being a Jap Bike......I would show them the MADE IN AMERICA stamp on the engine and then ask them to show me where it said that on their Harley.
