We had a Korean place open up in the strip mall, not too far from us.
You can go by there about aytime or night of the week and the parking lot is full to the brim with people standing outside waiting for their # to be called.

I'm kind of gettin a hankerin for some Chinese food.
If I was in da South, I'd get me some Green Chili.
Getting cool here, I could use some New Mexico Green Chili Stew. And some cornbread.

Never knew until this year that Rheumatoid Arthritis travels around the body. I had only know about the joint type. My uncle had both hands mostly useless most of his life. When he was about 45 he had all his joints replaced in his fingers. Last time I saw him he was like a different man. He was always a nice guy. It sure was nice seeing him smiling and he squeesed my hand hard.

JimmyT, Softball for several years, like about 35 or so, and 4 years of baseball in high school, played a lot of hell with my shoulders, started playing softball and decided I wanted to pitch, well that tore up my shoulders and right ankle, and 1 wrist.
After high school, I pitched in the service, then when I got my discharge, I pitched for 14 years on a town team, this was all fast pitch. Then I played on the CHP Tahoe area team for like 8 or 9 years.
One time in a tournament I was scheduled to start, told the coach the only way I could start was if I went right handed. He said I don't have anybody else, do what ya got to do. I pitched 5 innings, had NO walks, and 12 'K's, the other 3 outs were flies to the outfield, I had a no hitter, but my shoulder got way way too tired. So I throwed in the towel to the coach.

Listening to Jimmy Hay, RJ, and Green Lantern, looks like we all lived our younger lives like there was no tomorrow. Now that the tomorrows are here, we have lots of aches and pains to remind of of our earlier exploits. I can't tell you how many trees I bounced off running enduros through the woods, or the way my knees felt after playing softball for two teams after a long week end (or the hangovers from all the beer I HAD to drink playing for two teams). The countless times I jumped off the wing on the aircraft I worked on in Uncle Sams Air Force. Throw a little football into the mix, and I fully understand why I have two shot knees, three severely herniated disks in my neck, three other disks in my neck bulging or collapsed, a severe sciatica in both sides due to herniated disks in L3 & L4. But, ask me if I would do anything different if I went through my youth again, and my answer is HELL NO! We are what we are because of what we did. If I'd lived in a coccoon, what a waste of a good life that would have been. Sounds like many of us feel the same, and lived life much the same way.

Grandmas are alway the best cooks! Vell, I guess I can say my wife is a hell of a good cook, cause she is a grandma. LOL......... For a long time we told the kids that their grandma was making pumpkin pies so behave. They were actually squash pie, never told them the difference. She passed away, and one time we were headed out West on vacation over Thanksgiving. We had 3 of the kids with us. Stopped in a Truck Stop, for lunch and they were advertising Pumpkin Pie. If you knew of a better pumpkin pie cook your pie was free. Yeah they got theirs free. The waitress heard them telling their mom the pie tasted like crap. We explained the deal to her and when the chek came, 3 pieces of pumkin pie were removed. They ate their meal, and the pie came. I noticed the youngest 2 kids eyeballing the pie but not saying anything. Each one took a bite and told their mom, this is sure crappy pumpkin pie. We had to tell them then and there that in the past their grandma was fixing squash pie all those years. To this day, both of the younger ones tell this story during Turkey Time. Wife and I have to laugh about it. The youngest one is 37 & her brother is 47, so it does get some eyeball rolling and a few smirks under our breath. They both think it is funny now, but their next up the line brother will not eat pumpkin pie, it has to be squash as to him that was Pumpkin pie and he wants to remember his grandma for them.

Good story RJ. My fondest memory of Chrismas time eatin wuz one year my 6 uncles bribed my grandma to cook homemade wheat buns, I call them rolls. The women beat that dough down twice late at night, then in the morning, they beat it down twice more befor tearing off the pieces and putting them on cookie sheets. When them thanks came out of the oven, you had better have your fork ready. Us kids had to fight the uncles for those buns and then for the butter while they were still hot. Man, and how was I to know that those were the good times!? Pumpkin pie is my fav still to this day. Hay Jimmyt

I'm retring from my second job to spend more time with my wife and the phat gurl. 50 hour week at full time job and 10-15 hours a week mowing grass on the side didn't leave too much time for fun. And you know, all work and no play makes the patient a very tired bugger! DBP PS: Bugger - can use that term here?

My wife and I were reminising some of the Texas Tech games we had seen over the years our boys were in college.
Heard the song "Here comes the boom!" and thougth about Dwayne Slay. Found the youtube video where he laid out the Kansas QB and it made Sports Center for weeks. Also remembered Wes Welker laying out some people when he was blocking for another runner. There was another, Jamar Wall, had a great hit on a guy. Blocked him up in the air and straight on his back. That was on youtube too. Man it sure is great to see hits like that.

Setting here trying to watch the news and answer emails.
Wow, what a chore.
Today our temp got up to 81, record was 82.
They are talking one more hot day and then the sheet will hit the fan.
They were also talking about snow in Nebraska, Western part, but we are right in it's trail.
