Something about a wobble is all that the first post said.  Hope there aren't more injuries found.

Can't even see across the street today. RJ sent some nasty stuff here today. Got about 18 inches in the past 48. Just like the old fashion winters we used to have.

I've been AWOL off and on, whats up with Grumpy? Sorry for the question I just don't know.

Just for tellin everyone I sent it to you, I'm not going to close the gate.

As for Grumpy, he took a spill on his bike.    Don't know anymore details other than what is on this board.

Enjoy the snow I sent ya to the fullest.

Our street cleaner was trying to wear out the snow I do believe.

He'd go up the street and plow it onto this side of the street.
He'd come back and plow it to the other side.

After about 8 or 9 passes, a supervisor's car showed up.   He parked in my back garage driveway and took over the controls of the snow plow.

Showed him how to do it and put him back in control of the plow, watched as he  made a final pass and drove off.    I really don't think he was too happy as he was really in the poor (rookie) drivers face.   I assumed he was a rookie plow driver.   LOL....

When I worked for the Ford garage as a shuttle driver we had a lot attendant that plowed snow off, attempted to plow the snow off the lot.    Took him 2 days to do a 3 hour plow job on the lot.

Sorry, ya that was for you RJ. Glad its workin out. My wife had a mini stroke in July and scared the hell outa me. Don't know what I'd do without the ol gal. She to put it plainly, has put up with a lot of crap over the years. They don't make em like that anymore!  Wife of a cop and fire chief hasn't been easy for her. I don't come home in the best of moods a lot of the time. But, she gets it.

Yeah, Red put up with me for 32 years as a CHP.

When I 1st went on the force, I was told I'd go to Lake Tahoe Area after I get out of the Academy.

We bought 10 acres in Grass Valley, good place to live while assigned to Lake Tahoe area.

To make a long story short, some people pitched a bitch so they withdrew all assigned locations and we had to draw for locations after graduation.

1 of the bitchers got what he wanted but the rest didn't fare too well, and I was one of those.     Ended up in Blythe CA for almost 3 1/2 years.   Then I started at San Diego, and worked my way North.    After 14 years, I made it to Lake Tahoe and retired from the Force there.

Flew home for 4 days, every 4 weeks compliments of the CHP.

When I retired, the class I was in at the Academy, only 5 people were still on the Force.    Some got fired, some took a bullet, lived and they quit, a couple ended up in Prison.

The academy was a PIA to put it plainly. IF these kids today got trained like we did, they would quit the first week. We didn't have to make choices per say when we got out, we were already sponsored by a department that we "wanted" to work for so that was in our favor.
Worked 4 years in the sherrifs dept then 2 years at Saugatuck / Douglas PD. Ran at least 3 bar fights a night during the week then usually from Friday night till Sunday night it ran into the 20s. The Coral Gables was a big contributor, but we also had a biker bar. They were tough when there were over 3 of them wearing the same patch together. The college kids would come to town and get smart with em and wear their ass for a hat.   2funny
Then on to my home town for 22 years and where I retired from. LE was good to me I can't bitch cept for the politics. I was a road Sgt. and sometimes that proved to be a PIA.
I started in the fire service in 81 and am now chief of the same station my grandfather was chief of, kinda neat. Anyway, glad to hear the wife is doing fine, CLOSE THE DAMN GATE!

Had a sudden wobble, huh, that could be a # of reasons for that.

Hope Grumpy heals quickly and correctly.

Plus hope he figures out the cause of the wobble.

I hate those kind of get offs.

They can and do hurt ya.

Peace:

Them wobbles can be dangerous.

Many years ago, I took my Police Motor in for periodical service.

For some reason or another they took the windshield off.

They put it back on and never tightened one side up.

It had just enough flap in it that it set up one hell of a wobble, better known as a tank banger.

I was in a pursuit, got it out of the wobble, took me 30 minutes to get the seat out of my puckered up butt.   I let the Black & Whites finish the chase.

Called in told them to send a pickup truck.

Damn Dispatcher said what is the problem, told him a wobble, he said ride it in, told him to shove it up his arse, this motor is not moving here with me in the saddle.

I took out the key, the radio, and called a Cab.   Went back to the Garage checked out another motor and finished my tour.   Area office paid my Cab fare.

The bike was still out on the street.   Since I didn't bring it in I had to write a report.

A Dispatcher got an ass eating and told if he ever refuses to go get another motor, he would be fired and replaced on the spot.

They got it in about midnight, the 3rd shift found the loose windshield, tightened it up, checked out the rest of the bike and put it in the row ready for service, after a test ride.

Wife took me to work, I brought the radio and key, took it out for a short spin on the super slab, everything  seemed to work okay so I called in and went in service.

After that deal the garage manager appointed 3 Techs to check all work performed on the motors.    The one who worked on mine screwed up 3 more times and he was sent walking.

Ah, I found it...You were a mean cop, I was a nice guy!   2funny  Some dispatchers just don't get it. Our's, civillian and all female, were a pain in the ass and that is being nice. I still use the same dispatch center (911 central dispatch) that I used in LE and have known some of them for years. They understand the deal and that this isn't a game and they aren't the boss.

We were just getting Lady Dispatchers about the time I was 10 years from retirememt.   The day I retired we only had 1 male dispatcher and he was never on the air except in an emergency situation, like got to make a potty call in a high volume time.      He was supposedly the supervisor.    I think the ladies only tolerated him cause they knew he was a short timer to retirement.

Temperature hasn't really been that bad, but the firkin wind chiil and snow is raising havoc.

Predicted a dusting, vell we got 3" of dusting, and then the wind just twisted it and swirled it where ever it wanted.

About 9:30PM a white out West of town on the I/S caused a 25+ vehicle accident.

Closed the road till just after 8:00 AM.

Then a damn dump truck tried to beat a train across the intersection.   You can almost guess what happened, train flip & tossed that 10 wheeler w/2 buddy wheels every way but loose.   Luckily no one was hurt.
