Hello.Just purchased truck stacks to install on my stock exhaust.Already have cut the slot in them.When grinding the weld spots flat to allow the stacks to slide over the muffler,is it necessary to grind flat the welded seam that runs the length of the muffler?Also,what are some of the favored lubes to help get the stacks on? Thanks

You don't want any welds "proud" or sticking out from the surface of the can.  I used WD40.

I didn't grind the seam, I used just plain soap to slip the stacks on.  Took a little bit of force but not too bad.  You can use WD-40 like Skinhead said or any thing else to provide lube.  Just make sure that your pipes are cold and it would not hurt to warm up your stacks before you slip them on.
