I recently bought a used sissy bar off ebay. It came with a Ultimate Backrest, and on the backrest is a part that has the Ultimate Sticker that says Valkyrie Standard/Tourer. But i don't know what it's for. Looks like it has half of a piano hinge on it.
It looks like the backrest would mount to the sissy bar with just the three stock bolts, so I don't know what it's purpose is. Does anyone have the Ultimate Sissy bar Pad and know what it's for?

Here is a Picture of the part

Is it for a flip-up arm rest?

Looks like a PO addon. Maybe to attach a bag to the sissy bar. Anyway, doesn't look like it belongs there. cooldude

It's part of an armrest assembly like this:

If that's true, then it is installed upside down for it will not work as shown.

Ok, I yield.  Not familiar with that stuff much less wanting it on my Valkyrie.

Its installed correctly. Thats the base and the flip up goes on top.

Leave them on as a permanent accessory or use them only when you need them . Removal is quick and simple ..... all you do is pull out the hinge pin , the actual mounting bracket stays on the sissy bar
