Whitney Houston's death, while a sad thing, was the direct result of very
unwise life choices. It dominates the news.

Charlie Sheen is 45 and his story is all over the news because he is a
substance abuser, an adulterer, sexually promiscuous and obnoxious.

Lindsay Lohan is 24 and her story is all over the news because she is a
celebrity drug addict and thief.

Something as frivolous as Kim Kardashian’s stupid wedding [and short-lived marriage]
was shoved down our throats, While........

Justin Allen 23
Brett Linley 29
Matthew Weikert 29
Justus Bartett 27
Dave Santos 21
Jesse Reed 26
Matthew Johnson 21
Zachary Fisher 24
Brandon King 23
Christopher Goeke 23
and Sheldon Tate 27...

Are all Marines that gave their lives last month for you.
There is no media for them; not even a mention of their names.

Honor THEM by sending this on.

I did, will you?

God bless you, Rest In Peace, and THANK YOU, TROOPS

It is indeed sad what our society deems newsworthy and important.

Makes you wonder where some folks prioritys are?? When Viet Nam was going on the only folks interested were mothers and fathers and husbands and wives that still had people over there. And the other vets. Not my opinion-but mayhaps the folks that write the news-hollywood types are more newsworthy than American Service Men and Women dying. Doesn't say a lot for us as a people-do it?? Thank GOD for every young man and woman that want to put on a uniform. Too bad a lot of the American public do not appreciate what these fine folks(our military)do far all of us. RIDE SAFE.

Kind of tells you what our society worships.  To bad, God bless our troops everywhere.

Well said Rick! I don't blame the man who burnt the NJ state flag! Priorities are way out of wack. IMHO

The news outlets go with what sells. But to be fair, I see profiles on the war dead regularly on CNN.com and CBS nightly news. It's not as if people drive around with "Support our Kardashians" magnet ribbons on their cars or as if we erect giant black T's (for "fish taco") in honor of dead celebrities. The people who defend our country probably don't want the kind of attention those people get anyway as they don't do it for glory, fame and riches. It WHY they're worthy of our admiration in the first place. They don't ask that we celebrate them tirelessly or obsess over them, they only ask that we don't forget them.

There's no real way to honor their true value so just thank them and help one when you can, even if it's just by lending an ear.
