A terrible day in coast guard aviation.  No further information is authorized for release, I'm just asking for thought and prayers for the remaining crew members and for the families and friends of those lost already.

Fair winds and following seas my fallen brothers.

Lost, NEVER FORGOTTEN.

RIP.

The tree of freedom must sometimes be nourished with the blood of free men and tyrants....

Sad....thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all for the prayers.  I cannot imagine what my wife and two young kids would be going through if this were me.  As for an update...

They have lifted the Helicopter wreckage from the bay. None of the crew was found inside. They have recovered the bodies of the pilot and co-pilot, and the swimmer was found moments after the crash. They are still searching for the body of the flight mechanic.

Coast Guard aviation is a small, very tight community. The entire aviation side of the guard is smaller that the NYC police department to put things into perspective.

My thoughts and prayers to my fallen brothers family and friends.
