General altimax 205-60-16 on the rear and a Metzler 880 up front. Both of these tires were put on 12295 miles ago. The new tread depth on the metz 880 was 5 MM new. The tread depth now is 3 MM. Not to shabby me thinks. The rear D/S was 9 MM new and is now at 6 MM. I consider my self a moderate/aggresive driver. Front kept at 44 45 P S I and the rear kept 34 36 P S I. Most of my running is one up stock shocks on #3 and i carry a bunch of tools with me and 2 1 gal water jugs and extra clothes wherever i go. And i am not above showing a V twinky the error of their ways. 2funny This report is just my experience to this point in time and what i have discovered  about MY tire wear. Your results may be/will be different. coolsmiley I hope some of my brothers and sisters on this board will find this information useful/helpful. cooldude RIDE SAFE.

You will find the front tire wears on the sides of the tire and not directly at the center of the tread.

It's entirely possible to start to show cord threads while the center of the front tire still has tread.

Jus sayin'

Thanks for the report.  I am also running 205/60/16 (General Altimax) installed Oct. 2011, and just got my new ME880 about 15minutes ago from UPS (was running on front a wore out Dunlop-crap)  Looking forward to a new riding season.

I just installed 2 new tires .  A General "evertrek" 205-60-16 from wally world  $105 and a Shinko 130-90-17 rear tire for the front about $70 from somewhere online , I dont remember. Only have 25 miles on them so far but feels great . Ran a GY tripletread before that and liked it too , had about 30k miles on it but changed it because it had 2 plugs in it . Also ran a Bridgestone Potenza before the GY and liked it fine . The "evertrek" has the directional tread and looks good . Anyone else run a Shinko or "evertrek"?

Oh, I forgot to add , I haven't  balanced a tire since 2002 and have had no handling issues. I bought my wife a nice "94 " Magna and installed 2 new tires on it , no balancing and it handles as good as any I've ridden .  I kinda like her bike , if it was bigger I might just ride it all the time . Please note the tire balance thing is just my opinion and may not be suitable for everyone .
