Ordered mine direct from Aeromach over a month ago and found out after the order was placed that they weren't even in production yet. Got an apologetic email saying 4-6 weeks before they would ship, got another email last week saying another 4-6 weeks due to some medical problem with their machinist. They're happy to take your money first, then tell you later to wait, and wait......... I'd hold off until they are in stock and shipping before dropping any coin. Myself, I think it's a lousy way of doing business. At least tell me when I am ordering that there is a significant wait or backorder before you take someones money, and give them an option to get their money back if you can't deliver in a reasonable time.

Yea, that was the same response I got when I ordered mine. I patiently waited by the mail box for several weeks until inquiring about them. At that time they told me "oh no, they won't ship til there are enough orders to produce them. So, I made my own. They cost almost $50 for the set.

Here's another way to do it if you can't find the original V-Stacks but still want to do something with it. I saw these done by another member a long time ago and copied the idea after getting the information from him. At this moment I don't remember who that was. I had V-Stacks on mine and stashed them away for possible future use. I've gotten a lot of inquisitive looks, questions, and compliments on the current "stacks".

Credits... I just found that the original member who told me how to do the filters was Fudgie. I got more info with pictures and instructions from Victor Rivera aka SixGuns. Original post... http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,21725.0.html

The "stacks" are actually oil breather filters and I ordered mine online from Amazon because that's where I found the best price at the time. I used the ones with the stainless steel mesh instead of the paper filters. You can find these in different colors for the paper filters, like blue, red, and white. I don't know how long they would hold up if they got wet. I paid $8.42 per each. I see they are now $11.17. You might search the web for prices to see if they can be had for less. They sell them at AutoZone but I found that they usually only have one in stock. The filters have a rubber hose that fits into a hole in the bottom. You just cut the hose out and discard it. This leaves you with a flat bottom on the filter and you'll stick it directly to the top of the standard carb covers using double sided tape. You need a strong tape to keep them in place for years and through washing and cleaning. I used 3M Body Side Molding tape and I think I bought it in an auto parts store; probably AutoZone. It's like 1/2 inch wide, very thin, and sticks like crazy. I don't have a model number or any more information on which tape to get. You don't want anything too thick or it wouldn't look right. I just cut 4 really short pieces and stuck them to the bottom of the filters and carefully aligned them onto the covers. Here's a link to the filters at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BPUR4I/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_3?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000BPZ464&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1S8NXCT5FDM440J7GH83

I really like how the breather filters look for "stacks" so I started looking around and stumbled on a sweet deal on fleabay. I have a red/white tourer so I thought the red ones would look pretty cool so I got to searching and I found a lot of ten red ones for only $35. Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280837067233#ht_500wt_1202Its nice to have ten just in case I lose one or some punk kid rips it off!!!! Can't wait to see how they look!

Can't wait to see how they look! What a deal! And I agree that the red should look really good. I almost went for the blue ones on mine but was worried about them getting wet. I hope you'll post a picture after you get 'em installed. It's also a good idea to have an extra or two stashed away and I should probably pick up a copple for that reason.

Those do look great! I had bought a set of V-stacks that I have not got around to putting on yet. I might put these on instead.
Does anyone know if they will work on an Interstate? Plus, do you have to shim the gas tank for clearance?
Thanks.

Yes, you'll need BigBF's shim and will need to use a dremel and sanding wheel to carve a notch out of the pods on the IS.

I'm wondering if they are bright enough to be noticed except at night. I don't ride enough in th dark to ever make it worthwhile to install the lights.

Titan, On those air filters there looks like a chrome collar around the base. Am I seeing things or do those filters come with a chrome base? They really look good. I'm thinking seriously about trying to put them on my 98 standard. Linedog

NO, they don't show well in the daylight. I don't run the red ones while riding, just when parked. Blue are on any time I'm out at night. As long as they are not directly visible from the front and are not flashing they are legal until you run into a local ordinance that says otherwise. I've ran with them on thru multiple states without any problem.

No sir. In one of the pics you can see how much space there is between the tops and the tank. Mine is a Standard so I don't know about an Interstate.

The strongest and thinnest double sided tape is 3M VHB "very high bond". It's not foam core based so if you can remove it then it pulls away clean.

Well gang, I received my filters, (White) picked up Red, White and Blue LED's am still looking for some brighter Blue lights for chrome show. tested one with the 9volt, shows up very nicely in the dark. Phred was over and mentioned that one of the guys was assembling a sequential flasher for the LED's. Does anyone know if they were ever completed and available?? I visited our local supply shop the LED flasher is available but they all flash at the same time. HELP HELP?? Thanks for the great idea. Don

Is there any word on the flasher unit yet?? I have figured out the wiring nightmare and hiding it parts. Now just to find a flasher, I have thought about putting three normal flashers in the red, blue and white circuits, then I am up against the fitment issues. Went to an electronics store online, over $80 dollars for a kit to build one, and then I would need my 6 year old Grandson to do the geek work, his time is limited as he and his siblings are required to babysit Grampa and make sure nap times are observed. With the feeding and cleaning of Grampa taking up most of their time,he has little extra, to work on the Valk. With 9 Grandkids you would think they could get more done in a day. Well, off to the "rocker" for a while to contemplate the situation.
