I hadn't used my acct in years and only bought maybe 3 items with it all together.....well, I ordered a Vacuum hose kit from The Wing Doctor over on the Delphi VRF and I was going to send him the $$ through Paypal so he'd get it faster, but I mistakenly sent it to the WRONG email address....the payment went through but to the wrong person....after talking to Paypal, I was told that they would email the guy and ask him to refund my payment to me and for me to do the same....the only PROBLEM is, is that the email addy I sent the payment to describing the mix-up bounced back to me saying that "<wingdoctor@aol.com> Permanent Failure: 550_MAILBOX_NOT_FOUND Delivery last attempted at Thu, 14 May 2009 23:27:28 -0000" .....I called them back today and they had me file a dispute and that if he didn't respond back to their Resolution Center, I could upgrade it to a "Claim"....either way, I'm out my $67 for a while...if I EVER get it back... ...they always say "No good deed goes unpunished"...all I can figure out is that the guy got my $$ and then canceled that email addy???....I think that I will NOT be using Paypal anymore....

Why not use Paypal.....It sounds like Paypal worked exactly as it's posed to. It sent the money where YOU told it to.

How come ya is a blaming PayPal for your screw up?
You use the wrong email addy, that is your fault not theirs, and they did explain to ya on how to get your $$$$ back.....
Bite the bullet, order again and use the right email and file a claim. You will get your $$$ from PayPal in due process.....

do not make it very CLEAR on how to recover money for mistakes, regardless of why it happened even though the email I sent it to was bad and should have allowed me to cancel the transaction for THAT reason alone...I tried to cancel the transaction BEFORE it went through, but it didn't allow me to do that...and even before that, I was trying to have the $$ come from my CC instead of my checking acct...it wasn't very clear on how to do that... I know I'm not the only one to send the $$ to the wrong email addy...and I only sent it to the link I was given, so there was some mix-up on the actual Seller's end... I found this website describing some of paypal's shady dealings...it's interesting reading... http://www.paypalsucks.com/

I've used paypal for years, starting shortly after they opened for business - for purchases and sales. Hundreds of transactions. Never had a problem. They are the premier online money processor - not a small fly by night. One of the best things about them, is you SEND the money - the seller can't PULL it out of your account. They never see your CC or banking info.

Wait and see if the money is actually withdrawn from your acct. In PAYPAL, does the transaction say "complete".
I gotta agree with the folks above - Paypal (actually owned by EBAY) has been very good for me over the years. It's not in their interest to have bad transactions.

If not, and it is a invalid email addy, I doubt very damn much if they dude ever received the $$$..... Do some checking out of the situation before ya start blasting. Stan, I feel your pain. It'll work itself out. In the meantime go to AutoZone and but a few feet of vacuum line and have at it. It's not that bad, I chased down a Gremlin......replaced coils, plugs, wires, vacuum lines......only to discover a faulty Dyna Ignition with weak spark. I spent alot of $$ on stuff I didn't need. BUT I learned alot and have alot of spare parts. Make the fix, ride, and worry about the Goldwing kit later. The season is here, do what you can. I wish you luck. You'll be up in no time.

Paypal mistake

Mr. Gibbons,
I mistak enly entered your email address on Paypal to make a payment for something for my motorcycle. The guy sent me the wrong email address and now I and he are both out the $67 payment I sent.....it should have been sent to thewingdoctor@aol.com ....
I contacted Paypal on the phone along with the intended Seller, and Paypal told me that they would email you as well as advising me to do the same thing. I would very much appreciate it if you would refund that money back to me at stanbeas@bellsouth.net so that I can send the money to the actual Seller...Thank you and I'm sorry for the mix-up.
Sincerely,
Stanley L Beasley

I cannot read the yellow.
Have patience. Paypal will get the money back to you. Paypal has been great for me. MANY transactions. Hopefully you have been able to eat this week, and make the mortgage payment with the missing money. But, it will come back.
You made the mistake. Not paypal. And you are ticked that they are not fast enough in fixing your problem?
The money may not have actually been paid to anybody yet. Paypal takes it out of your account, and then pays the other party. I have had the money come out of my acct, and the other party has not been paid for a couple more days. Your money may well been in that transition stage. Paypal WILL get it back to you.

Yellow stands out extremely well on the colors I have my screen set to....sorry, I thought it'd look the same for everyone with the default colors.... I will try to be patient with Paypal.....and hope that my $$ is sitting in limbo in their acct since it appears the guys email was or is no good....it's not the amount of $$ in question, just the principal of the matter to me...

Yellow is visible to those set to black backgrounds, those of us with white backgrounds can simply highlight the offending text and it becomes clearly readable.
Stanley, I hope this gets worked out for you.

Over on the Delphi VRF, we have started posting messages that intentionally have very hard to read text in them to tease one another(light pink usually does it)...we just highlight the text, and the "hidden" messages pop right out...but, it's a smaller, more well nit group over there and we enjoy pulling each other's legs from time to time!!

One more thing to check would be that you used the correct suffix in your email address. We get so used to .com that sometimes we overlook the other ones like .org, .ed and such.....

Steamer, don't be afraid to use paypal in the future. It is an extremely safe and secure payment method that is used by virtually all online sites now. The claim escalation does take a little time, but you will always get your money refunded to your account. I have used paypal for about 8 years and have bought hundreds of items through paypal. I have had about a dozen claims filed against individuals during that time and have always received my money, but it can take a little bit of time. Have faith..........paypal will do you right.

I have used paypal ever since they started. I have run over 30k through them and only had one problem and they resolved it. Sure it takes time, the same thing that protects you from fraud. I think they are stellar and provide an excellent service. They will get your money back to you if it was not received at the other end. If you send it to the wrong address,, I can not see how it is their fault, however they will still try and resolve it. IMHO

Chill out Stanley. I've had a couple of people try to rip me off and Paypal did right by me. On one occassion, a guy sent me one I/S shock when I bought a pair from him. When he wouldn't answer my emails, I followed Paypal's dispute process. Got all my money back. Then he contacted me wanting his shock back. Told him to send me the same amount for shipping but he refused. So if anybody needs just one I/S shock, I got one.
