"Maryland residents do not have to provide a "good and substantial reason" to legally own a handgun, a federal judge ruled Monday, striking down as unconstitutional the state's requirements for getting a permit."

Good decision.

MDs law was unconstitutional, both as written and esp. as implemented by State officials. 

Other States to follow.

Just wait for the creative way law will still try and enforce this.
Just ask the folks in DC. Same thing, law was found unconstitutional, but they found a way to make it hard for the gun dealers to actually sale a gun to a citizen that now has the right to own one...
