when I was still in HS and college my night job was at the drive in

You had to go up onto a concrete platform with the car to pay

some cars would bottom out

we say pop the trunk and lo and behold two or three people are in there

and even found a keg of beer or 2 ( we visit that  car during the movie )

those were the days

I just go to Costco and get the theatre pass for $23.  You get two admittances, two regular drinks and a popcorn.  We up-size the popcorn to the large with extra butter for $2.  Gotta have the theatre popcorn.

My parents nearly got kicked outta the Globe Theater in England during a Shakespeare play for popping open some Coke cans... The *Pop.Fizzzzzz* sound got the ushers hunting for them, but they never did find them...

I've been boycotting the theater prices (movie; not food/never bought it) and noise for about 20 years.

Movie theatres make money from concession sales not ticket sales.

Simple really. Don't like the price don't buy it.

Nope, some half wit has to start whining.

This is why I bought a projector and a 120" screen. I can drink beer, eat pizza, fart, burp and belch while I watch a movie and nobody's gonna say a word.  2funny

I never have trouble with rowdy/loud people at the matinee or the 7:00 showing. The one after the
7:00 showing lasts 'till way after my bedtime  coolsmiley ... maybe people are already partying
at the later showings?

We never by the popcorn.
We grab a nice dinner before the movie.

Wife has a really large purse the holds several bottles of beer (7 or Cool
Haven't been to a movie in a long time without an adult beverage.

The trick is, not to accidently kick the empty after you set it on the floor.
Sounds like a pin ball game as it slowly rolls down the incline towards the screen tinking off the metal legs of the chair up front
