First...recall the last time you changed oil in any vehicle? You always have at least a teaspoon of oil that doesn't flow out of the bottle, often a bit more. You pay for the entire quart so you might as well use it. Most of us I'll bet have a small oil can in the shop used for that squeaky hinge on the back door, maybe to loosen up a drawer slide, menial stuff. I always turn the empty oil bottle(s) upside down in a large cleaned out coffee can and let it drain. Then pour that oil in my little trigger operated oil can. Everything in the house & garage is lubed with synthetic oil, has been for years.

Recently there have been a couple posts re. the choke cable being extremely hard to move. Use whatever lube you like, but reconnecting the cable at the switch housing can be a real PITA. So before you start, disconnect the choke cable at the bottom on the carb bank. Then go about your cleaning/lubing of the choke handle and cable. With the extra 3-4" of cable to work with from disconnecting it at the bottom, the reassembly at the top is much easier....though still a PITA, just not quite as bad.  cooldude

Good idea John.  Coincidentally I was in the auto parts store yesterday and bought a new squirt oil can.  I found one made in the USA and bought it for a little more money than the one made in China.
