Finished installing my new Yokahama 205 60 Avid Envigor tonight. It was dark so just a small test ride hope to ride more this weekend. All the posting I've read here seems to be accurate. Slow speeds a little different felling, medium speeds not so much, freeway feels fine. I had to do the nut cage mod but with all the tech stuff found here it was a breeze, no problems. Although the clearance on the right side of the swing arm is very tight, only about a 5/64 drill bit in between the tire and arm. Right side more than an inch, I would like to know if thats normal or too tight. Brought a flash lite on the ride and checked for rubbing 3 times, no marks at all. Have to say it took me 15 minutes to figure out were to re-install the rear brake pad spring after it fell out. All in all not a hard job to do. Thanks to any and everyone who posted stuff about the Darkside, biggest help was the step by step rear wheel removal from SHOP TALK, Tire Change and Rear Spline Lube from Carl Kulow. VRCC is the greatest.

My first 205/60 looked real close to the swingarm. Credit cards would just slide through it was close. I noticed a couple of scuff marks on the tires sidewall. Raising the air pressure a few lbs. and that stopped. Running a GYTT now that seems to have a stiffer sidewall no marking.

I run a 205-65, and i bet i have a quarter inch before rubbing the swing arm.. give that thing about 500 miles and it will feel even better. Mine feels better every time i ride it now, and i have about 600 miles on a Falken 512

Just went "DARK" myself. Took it out the other evening, Put about 50mi on it and I really like the way it handles so far. It does like to ride down from the crown in the road but nothing harsh and not too much different than with m/c tires. Did some little twisties with no major issues or complaints. You just have to drive the bike. I like that. I'm in control of the bike, not the other way around. I'm running the Avon cobra front, 40psi, Goodyear Assurance Tripletread 205/60/16 rear, 32psi. Will bump it up to 35psi and give that a shot after another 50mi or so. So far though, I love the way it rides. A special thanks to all of the contributors for all of the "tech" advice, tire reviews, handling issues etc. You guys are awsome!

With the GYTT, it's very tight on the right.... a credit card will drop thru but no rubbing. Running 32psi right now. I will be bumping it up to 35 and try that for a while then up to 38 to get the feel and find what feels best and adjust accordingly. Went for a short spin tonight, cold but really rode nice. So far, no handling major handling issues. Just have to put a little more into the lean. But once established, it's really stable. As stated before, creeping down the crown of the road is more noticable but certainly not un-managable. I like having to control the bike. I don't want to let the bike control me. I don't want to become complacent. I have felt no stability issues, slow or higher speeds.... 85mph for a short stretch and a mild curve. But more testing to be done. And really looking forward to it..... yeah, any excuse to get out and ride..... So far, very glad I "crossed over"!!

Nice looking machine pardner.
I run the GATTs on two interstates. Started at 40psi and stayed there. After 6-8K or so, it gets even less car-tire-like handling. One with 30K is still looking and handling good with some 2/3 of the tread gone.
