Hey Everyone. I just finished installing BLUE LED bulbs in the meters on my Valk Standard. DANG!!! They look REALLY good. Not fully dark yet outside but will be soon. I am riding it to work tomorrow & leave home around 3:40 AM so it will definitely be dark then. Well, gotta get to bed now.  L8R

Tried to tak a pix but the flash goes off & it does not show the blue...looks good tho. Go to superbrightleds.com. They have some pix of car instruments. The Valk will not show up as well as the cars but it still looks real good.

I went with green.  I totally got rid of that "numbers disappear at dusk" issue.  Blue will probably do the same.  I used green because the human eye is more sensitive to green than all other colors, I heard.

it's a money thing, woman are extremely focused on that color!!  Grin Grin

i'd like to see the dash with a different color, i switched mine to LED's last summer when one of my instrument lights burnt out, didn't think of going with a different color, i'd probably pick amber, excellent idea!!  maybe see if someone with a different camera can take it, sometimes you can turn the flash off and give it a longer exposure time, make sure you use a tripod.

good luck!!

I like what ya said, Alph, about money (Green). Funny. Nice pix. The Valk is in the shop right now (Slave Cylinder went out...Just leaking) but I will use my NIKON D300 when I get the valk back next week. The green pix looks about the same as the blue...partial to blue tho.

Thanks! They are superbrightleds. They match the color of the "lizard" lights placed throughout the bike. At night it really stands out.   Shocked

Do some research here on the forum, there's some good stuff.  coolsmiley

I've got the "cool white" bulbs.  Please excuse the crappy cell phone pic...it's the only camera I currently have.  They are actually very much brighter than my pic shows.   The cool white bulbs make the green numbers look blue.

They look very nice and functional too. Certainly an improvement compared to the stock set up. I looked at the link and can't determine which bulbs are needed?

Is that the same procedure as this one listed in shoptalk?

Chris's post was the one that got me to change out my lights to LED's. You do good work Chris!   cooldude  Don't buy anything larger than the X5 bulb because it probably won't fit through the "tunnel" that leads to the dial face.

Came home from work today and my "cool-whites" were in the mailbox Smiley
I already installed them, now out to gas up and off to Daytona. I will be riding in the dark and looking forward to seeing my gages.
I took pics, but they are dissapointing. The flash on the camera washes out the true image of these bulbs. I am very impressed at this low cost improvement and the cool white actually gives more of a blue look to the numbers and a platinum look to the guage. Very classy looking.
Chris, iba1990, I thank you again for a great instructional post with pics cooldude
