I have the Sena SMH10 set.  Here are some things to look for / compare....

Speakers (stereo vs mono)
Conference connection
Blue tooth connection (Pandora, I heart music, etc)
Blue tooth connection (cell to GPS to headset)
Software upgradable
Headset attachment to helmet
Boom attachment to helmet
Speaker (speaker’s vs ear buds)
Range between bikes

When I got my SENA it was somewhat new, but then new hardware came out they swapped out for $50 so I didn't have to buy another $200 system.  I liked the headset attachment and the fact it was stereo and I could use ear buds.  If you have a modular helmet the boom works well, I have a full face and have a speaker attached to the front of the helmet so I don't have to continually adjust my boom; the boom is on my modular helmet.  With the newest upgrade of software we have conference calling which makes it nice if you’re riding with others.

Bottom line is both units have their followers, and both units are liked.  Just figure out what options are important and see who has them.  One thing I've noticed is alot of people use the G4, so if your riding in a group it might be good to see who has what for compatibility... I never tried to link with a G4 from my SMH10...

Here is a good review, though a little old  http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/2010-motorcycle-intercom-comparison.htm.  I chose the G4 because they seem to be updating the software and firmware quite a bit through your computer and because of user reviews. I am not sure you can update the Sena via computer. Webbikeworld seems to like the Sena the best and it's cheaper. Haven't tested mine out yet so I can't give you my review. It's a matter of personal preference.

The problem with Socialists is they eventually run out of other people's money to spend!

Some people are too stupid to realize how ignorant they are.

I recently upgraded from the scala Q2 to the Scala G4 powerset and love it. It is much more user friendly than the previous version. Volume is excellent and the intercom is clear. Pairing is quick and easy. I purchased an extra boom mic/clamp off ebay and sent it to a lady in AZ for an earbud mod (she did an excellent job) so I can move it quickly from helmet to helmet without installing the speakers, or easy use with a half helmet. The bluetooth works great with my iphone for music/phone calls/speech to text etc.. I have also heard good things about the Sena but have never used it.
