I'd buy a Lawyer, and a financial planner.

Then I'd buy property somewhere out west.  Maybe even Alaska.  and, I'd buy a place somewhere for the summer, where the fishing is good, and the cost of living is cheap.  Cuba maybe?

Retiring this year so quitting work is irrelevant.  Selling this house and moving to Montrose, so extra money would make that easier.  Would really like to set up my kids for their retirement which will be a lot tougher for their generation.

I'd buy the biggest, baddest RV I could find along with a toy hauler and pack it full of toys and hit the road for about a year or so to figure out my next move without telling anyone that I was leaving or where the heck I was going.......just disappear.   cooldude

Pay all the bills and tell em all to get F&^*&d.....

Have Dag get me an I/S in Europe to match my current I/S-Red/Black of course.....

Spend the next year or 2 cruising Europe Valk style..... with some trips back here for the best riding....

Get a Toy Hauler and a driver to meet me where I'd like to ride when I fly back here... Time would be more important now than money............

After that... who knows....... Wink

The first thing I'd buy would be a new unlisted phone number.

Then I'd take a trip to the Eastern Med for six months to figure it all out, leasing/living on one of these with a crew of three (capt, deck hand and cook... is all they need).

Sh!t......... I may do it anyway.

Like many,  I'll drop a few dollars when the pot gets up to $100 Mil or more.... 'cause who could live on just $40-$50 Mil?   I would play the same group of numbers each time...  meaningful dates, ages, etc.  I was watching as they pulled the numbers as one after another came up.   As I literally ran to retrieve my tickets,  I was shaking in disbelief.  Unfortunately,  as I read through the tickets...  I had the wrong mix of numbers...   3 winning numbers on one ticket and another 4 numbers on another ticket.   Oh well,  life goes on.

I often thought about how that might have changed my life.  I always hoped if I ever did win,  I'd have a clear enough head (eventually) to change other peoples lives.  Similar to the idea of helping wounded soldiers families,  I'd like to help families of sick children.  I happen to work very near a Ronald McDonald House at a Childrens Hospital here in Philly. Can't think of anything worse than caring and worrying about your very sick child,  yet still needing to have some kind of job,  support your house, pay your bills and possibly other children.   I'd like to take at least some of the weight off of  people who really need it.

After that I can get back to the drinking, whoring, gambling, riding....    not necessarily in that order.

I'm a CPA and CFP, so I have a tendancy to be very realistic.  In my 30 years of practice I have had two clients win multi-million dollar lotteries.  One still lives on the family farm and the other blew through it all the money 7 years.  (He was a client for a very short period of time)  It can and does happen.  The first thing I need to say is that the lottery is a tax for people who are bad at math.  Don't spend more than ciggarette money on the damn things, but if you do win, for a small fee, I can show you how to live comfortably for the rest of your lives on 100 million dollars.

More accurately, the lottery is a tax on the stupid.  I used to buy 2-5 tickets a year for grins ..... but I got tired of waiting in line with people spending their children's food money.  So I quit.

i actually have two cousins that won large amounts of money (not millions, but over $150 grand each).  one has been living quite nicely 'cause they paid off their mortgage and all other expenses, while the other moved to california, bought an RV "house", and a lot of nose candy.  needless to say he's flat broke, working for his younger brother in florida.....  my mother use to say; "it's not how much you make, it's how you spend it".  words to live by.

I'd sell the house in the subdivision and move out in the country.

Buy a modest 1 floor home with a couple acres

Build a very large garage with the best security system money can buy, and electrfy it.

Create a mine field around it.

Hire armed guards to walk the perimiter to keep my wife from filling it up full of pots and pans, and old clothes that she never wears anymore.
