i'm sure all of you have been hearing the news that gas is going to hit $5 per gallon this summer.  i call it "conditioning" getting you ready to accept the price and to be happy if it only gets to $4.80 or so, then next year they'll reach $5.25 or more.

sure there isn't much a person can do about it, i myself don't plan on traveling, not much of a dent in the market place if "I" just make the change.  but lets say that a million people have the same idea, and a million vacations get cancelled?  still don't think very many would care, but what about food prices?  see there's one thing that's made in the "fly-over" states that them coastal people need, that's good and cheap food for their welfare programs.  what if farmers were finally able to pass the cost of gas onto the cost of food?  think about that $15 happy meals, and the $15 salads? how about if some poor illegal alien had to be turned away because there wasn't enough in the welfare budget?

the price of fuel is fake.  supply is up, and demand is down.  in any other commodity the price the consumer would pay would go down.  we see it with dairy and meat prices, not with fuel.

this year there is a huge supply of natural gas, enough to last us 200 years they say!!  now with people converting their diesels to run on compressed natural gas, i bet the supply dwindles down to a shortage in just five years!!  (mark your calendars on that one, in five years we'll be out of natural gas!!)

i don't care if the doctors wife complains about filling up her Escalade to run her daughter to soccer practice, but when the common person has to ride a scooter in January because they had to make the choice of getting to work, or getting milk for his family (god forbid he consume raw milk from the farm across the street).  i care for the common person, that's the person that really "works" in America, that's the person that makes America free.

there, enough of my issues......  i'll be taking the cycle to work, not because it get twice the mileage of my truck, but because I LOVE RIDING IT!!!

now go ride!!

In college in the 60's I was taught in Geology class that we were running out of natural gas and would be out in less than 10 years. Yeah, right.

Yep I believe big oil is getting the giant tanker of bunghole lube ordered and on it's way to every local gas station near you.

Gas went form 3.18 only 2 1/2 weeks ago to 3.64 this morning before work and now ** DRUM ROLL PLEASE ** up to 3.87 and climbing daily.

Diesel is even more fun here at 4.09 currently......that has been pretty steady for a while now.  Well steady in the sense that you feel violated every time you stop to fill up at 3.89 and now 4.09 tickedoff

New decal I made for the truck:

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.
