My 1997 Valkyrie turned over..... (are you ready?) ta, ta, ta DAAA!  5000 miles!!!!

And, yes, I'm sure it's 5000 and not 105,000 as we've been over this before months ago.  The guy I bought it from never rode it.  It sat on the showroom floor for 2 years, untiltled, just a piece of eye candy.

Anyway, had a great little ride today.  Near the end of my trip I stopped at a liquor store and as I was leaving a couple was walking past and the guy said "It that a six cylinder?" to which I said "Yes, it is." Then the gal said "it looks like a old Valkyrie." to which I said "That's because it is an old Valkyrie."  and then we had a long talk about it and they couldn't believe it was that old (cause it looks so good I reckon!).  Started it up for them because I told em' the two brothers were going later this month in favor of stock pipes.

I'm still torn a bit about changing the pipes cause they are cool but are a bit obnoxious around town.

Looking forward to the next 95,000 miles now.  Ride safe!  Steve

I don't feel so bad about having a 2000 with only 27,000 on the clock.

every time I've been tempted to sell her and let someone who has the time to enjoy her, my wife slaps me silly and says "no you don't!"

I understand you being torn on going from the two brothers back to stock.  I did it two years ago.  I liked the sound of them.  I loved them around town obnoxious and all.  It was the days of riding all day that I couldn't take anymore.
