The old cliche "The lunitics are running the asylum." applies here.  In a sane enviroment, the spies would be shot, and that would be an end to it.  Can you say scapegoat, someone is using this honorable man as a stepping stone to position and power.  There is no honor in politics, and you can be assured that is what is involved in this farce.  Unfortunately this type of thing is detrimental to our security as a nation.  When a commander cannot do his job for fear of disgrace and loss of career, you lose one of the basic strengths vital to our military to do their job.
