For those who have been around long enough to remember him, Tigger passed away yesterday morning.  I don't know the details, but he had been fighting kidney disease as a complication to diabetes for quite some time, and he had been in and out of the hospital several times in the last year or so.

Here is the page for his memorial event:
http://tiggers.eventbrite.com/

Here is Tigger's Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=624481788

Troll posted more information on Tigger's Facebook page.  I've quoted it here:
Quote
Hi, Friends of Tigger. Mr. Troll here. I've accessed Tigger's account to get in touch with as many people as possible whose lives will be affected by the saddest of news.

Tigger moved on to the next life at about 7:30am CST Sunday morning in Ada, OK, due to the effects of diabetes, primarily kidney and heart issues. We had talked numerous times about this time as it approached, and he as was ready to go as any of us can be.

Tigger and I were the closest of friends almost from the moment we met. He opened the first tattoo shop in Deep Ellum, Tigger's Body Art, which still bears his name. Back then, in the early 90s, folks on Main Street would line up three deep to watch through the giant plate glass window while he and his artists tattooed and pierced away. As far as I know, the first tattoo shop in Dallas to take that "theatrical" approach. Many tattoo shops followed in Deep Ellum, many using that same tactic. Tigger can be credited in large part for the growth in popularity of tattooing in Dallas.

He was a biker, a free spirit, and quite the hedonist until diabetes made him modify his lifestyle drastically. He was always fun to be around, and a walking, talking education in living the outlaw lifestyle without hiding. He was a skilled promoter, held degrees in several fields, including oil refinery design, and endlessly encouraged my musical endeavors.

He was my running partner in good times, my solid friend when times were not so good. He extended himself to me emotionally, spiritually, and financially when needed, and, hopefully, I was able to provide the same support for him when needed.

I hope I was as good a friend to him as he was to me.

A benefit party to celebrate his life (his request) will be held. Proceeds will be turned over to his son Matthew and daughter-in-law Erica for use as they see fit to handle necessary expenses. They are just beginning to get established in life and have three small children who will grow up with only the faintest of memories of their Grandpa. I'm hoping to raise enough to cover all of Tigger's outstanding business and leave a little bit of an "inheritance". As soon as details are pinned down, I will include this page on the list of places to post info.

Please share this info with any and everybody you feel might care to know.

As Tigger would say, "TTFN!"

Wow.....again, no words.  Sad

Spoke with him at several InZanes, he was a unique guy and not afraid to try things others wouldn't dream of in regards to Valkyrie customizing. Typical biker in that he looked like a scarey guy and had a heart of gold. So sorry to hear of this. RIP Bro.  Cry

This is becoming a very sad week.  I bought my chrome sidecovers from Tigger and saw him almost every year at the Big Texas Toy Run.

I didn't know him or LP but it sounds like they were both good people. The world needs more of those, not less.

I didn't know Tigger through the VRCC, but I did have lots of fun being a spectator at his Tattoo Parlor in Deep Ellum back in the 90s.  RIP Tigger, and thanks for the non-VRCC memories!

I think it was the 1st InZane that I met Tigger.    He was in the room next to me.  He was doing some Ink work also,  I was on the list for a new ink, but he never got to me.

RIP Bro.

Condolences to his family.

Wow, very sad news indeed.

It's been some time since I'd last seen Tigger. I think the last time was at an SSVR BBQ Gathering with most of those original members having since moved on to other things. Maybe 2000/2001? He had also done some recoloring for me at his place in Dallas.

I did have the opportunity to share some wind with him with the VSG as did my son, on at least as couple of occasions. One on a ride to the Hill Country with an overnighter in Austin if memory serves me. Truly a unique individual.

Here's a couple of shots from my archives. Sorry for the poor quality, I did not have any digital equipment back then so these were old school photo's that were scanned.

These were taken on a Texas Hill Country Run the VSG took back in 99 or 2000?

I think one shot was outside of I-Hop after breakfast and the other may have been in Fredericksburg after enjoying some fine German quisine.

RIP Tig!

I remember him from IZ1, too. I think he was the one who had the offset cam in his Valk with maybe one of the first sets of truck stacks...best low-n-loping sound I ever heard on a Valk. Godspeed, Tigger...hope your ride on the other side is wild and sweet.

Wow . . . another. Met Tigger once, back in 2000. He rode from Texas to Yosemite for a weekend gathering of Valks. Valks were purty new at that time. His was very well seasoned for being just a couple years old. He showed up with cord showing all the way around on the rear tire. The big add-on headlights on the crash bars were special. A character indeed.
