Well I got my new hip this morning. The long road of recovery has just started. They got me out of the bed for the first time and man did it hurt. They told me I should be doing cartwheels by the morning. Thank you all for the prayers and support.

Well, you survived the butcher shop.   cooldude

Now you got to do the PT.  The harder you work, the better result you'll get.  (yeah, easy for me to say)

I hope the drugs that they give you just make you feel like you're doing cartwheels, good thoughts on the healing!

Here's hoping for a quick and complete recovery.  Unfortunately, I have severe arthritis in both hips and the doc told me I have a replacement in my not too distant future.  Sad  Has definitely negatively impacted my comfort while riding.

Mike, follow the Dr's instructions to a 'T', and do the exercises as often as you can for Physical Therapy.

The more you do the exercises, the quicker you will be running around with not a hitch in its usage.

Trust me on that one.

Mike, if they said you'll be doing cartwheels in the morning, this was most likely an exaggeration.  Please don't try it or you may be staying to replace the other hip.   Cheesy

Seriously though... Heal quick.

Heal quickly Mike.   RJ is right, the more that you do therapy the quicker it will be to ride the Valk.

I don't know personally but my daughter works for a therapy provider and knows as she had both knees replaced.

Mike, while I can't give you advice (I've not had anything replaced), I can and do wish you a speedy and complete recovery so that we can see you at InZane in Arkansas. cooldude
