After removing the airbox to inspect a leaking fuel and vacuum line, I see that a few of the rubber tubes going down to the carb's has cracks in them. Maybe from heat?... Age?  I'm actually surprised she ran as good as she did on our trip yesterday.

My question is, are all airboxes the same? Pinwall has several used airboxes for cheap.... all from different yr and Valk models. I'm pretty sure they're the same, but I wanted to check before I ordered.
Thanks.

Bugs, I am nearly certain they are all identical  '97-'03.

To check, go to HDL Parts schematics, for airbox, for different year models; they should all be the same part number

Thou just to complicate things, Honda did issue different part numbers for the same part in different year models a few times, but I doubt for the airbox.

If you are talking about the #6 tubes, HDL sells for $7.81 each.

I'll go through and check the part numbers. That's a good idea.  cooldude

Yes, it's the #6 tubes. Pinwall has the entire airbox w/tubes ranging in price from 10 bucks to 60.00... I feel pretty good buying from them. Each one of the item's they sell has several "good" pictures from different angles.
Thanks for the help!

*EDIT*
I went through HDL's parts fiche, and checked the airbox part number. It's the same on all Valks. Thanks for the idea.

Course there's always duct tape.  Those #6s are ducts of a sort.   Evil

Maybe show a picture of what you are talking about. Could you be talking about the air tube to the carb, or a vacum line? The sealent around the tubes dries and crackes. Most leave it along. There has been discussions on this subject. I forget what the outcome may have been.

It's the #6 air tube(s) in the parts fiche that Jess posted. On some of the tubes, there are cracks just above the area that is clamped on the carbs. I've got a new (used) airbox ordered. That'll give me time to replace some fuel/vacuum hoses.
Thanks for the reply!

Black Gorilla tape would be less noticiable.

1997 and 1999 air boxes were identical having worked with  both. Do not know about the other years.

I check the parts fiche, '97 - '03 (Stnd, Tour, I/S), and all the airbox part #'s are the same.
