"Is that a car tire?"

"No."

"It sure looks like a car tire."

"It surely does.  I guess we could accurately acknowledge this tire was neither designed nor marketed with a motorcycle in mind, but, as you can clearly see, it is obviously now the rear tire of a motorcycle.  Thus, it's a motorcycle tire."

"Oh."

Educating the world, one guy at a time.

On the other hand, sometimes it's easier to just go along.

"Is that a Harley?"

"Yes ma'am, one 'o them big six cylinder ones" <G>

"Well, it's very pretty"

Thank you ma'am, I like it too."

I got asked that by another patron when I was picking up my wheel and mounted tire at the counter of a local bike shop last year. I said "used to be".

I get alot of questions about why i have it on there, "so i dont have to put my feet down at stoplights."

Most of them say oh and walk away.  A true motorcyclist will usually not ask what it is, but ask how it feels.

I had a guy from work, rider of "another brand" come over and look at my bike in the parking lot. He slowly walked around my bike looking at the motor and chrome. Got to the back of the bike, and glanced down at the back tire, hesitated, said "HOLY S#IT. As he walked away, he threw over his sholder, "Nice bike". Never made any other comments, waited until I left, before he rode out. Offered to go on a cruize with him some weekend and he said yeah, maybe sometime. Tire ALWAYS draws attention! cooldude

So Willow, does that mean you've come over to the Dark Side? I seem to recall you were a respectful holdout last time this discussion came up, or was I mistaken?

I got this one at a stoplight the other day:  "Hey, how do you like that big wide tire on the back?"
I don't think he got a close enough look to really figure out what it was, but he knew it was different.

Nice try, but my judge almost always replied... "Sustained,  the witness is directed to answer the question."

However, before asking the judge to declare the witness hostile (and short), in the interests of avoiding further shenanigans in this matter.........."I withdraw the question."  (until later)

In summation, in the complete absence of any meaningful evidence to the contrary, it is counsel's firm conviction that the only way a Contrarian Automotive Round Part would be installed on the witness's machine, would be over (actually, under) his deceased corps.  <G>

Not that there's anything wrong with that.   angel

e.  It looked like you needed to buy a vowel.

I can assure the court on my honor that what is on the rear of my Valkyrie is indeed a motorcycle tire.

The accuracy of your interpretation of my assertion, of course, may depend somewhat on what the definition of is is.

If it please the court, may I suggest a 2 week recess of this case, at which time agents of the court will have opportunity to examine and judge for themselves the car tireiness of defendant's motorcycle in person at a previously scheduled engagement heretofore referred to as the "Gathering of the Fools"?

May the court be advised the target of the proposed examination is in possession of not one, but multiple Valkyrie motorcycles, said motorcycles bearing tires of varying origins.  Not all of said motorcycles will be presented to the examiners at the aforementioned "Gathering O' the Fools".

Incidentally, is "dead corpse" redundant?

Is the defendant admitting to obstruction of justice: hiding evidence? Surely not!

Perhaps, but deceased corpse it is a satisfactory substitute for a dead body.

While not all bodies are deceased (see OssMan's posts), most bodies found on side of road are not still breathing.

While not all bodies are deceased (see OssMan's posts), most references to body found on side of road are not still breathing.

Since we're getting all legalistic and semantical (do you like that word?  I knew you would):
Most references don't breathe, whether they're found on the side of the road or not.  Some bodies do.

Sir, when you performed the autopsy, are you sure he was dead?
