The situation? I'm almost out of wax. The shocking part? Those who know me won't believe I've used an entire bottle of wax in only 2 years ....
I've been using Black Magic Wet Shine liquid wax for the past couple of years. I recently tried Kit Paste Wax and liked the way it goes on, but doing the "side by side" test on the Gold Wing with the Black Magic sent me back to it.
So, I figure I'll open a can of "wax" worms and ask -- what wax do you recommend for motorcycles? And why?
And for detailing, I use Cycle Care or Mequiar's. Any other suggestions? I know I do NOT like the Honda Cleaner. Again, your choice, and why?

i use meguiars cleanerwax first then the deep crystal polish to top it off. like its wet all the time. the polish is 10 times better, not trapping dust under it like wax does... easier cleanup also...

http://www.joes-juice.com/Try it, you will like it.... 15-20 minutes and it will turn a dirty bike into a sparkling clean shiny one. Why? Because it came highly reccommended by the Michigan Misguided... and it works.... better than anything else that I have tried to use on my bikes. One hint though, don't spray it on the bike, spray it on a clean microfiber cloth.... Good Luck!

Meguair's.
On Power Tour a small bottle was in our goodies package at registration.
Drive to the next venue, rain, shine or cloudy, spray the stuff on, wipe it off and left time for consuming adult bubbles while watching and talking to people going by your unit.........

"INSTRUCTIONS
1. Shake well and apply to a clean, dry surface that is cool to the touch. Do not apply in direct sunlight or in temperatures greater than 85° F."
This eliminates the RejeX for me, though it sounded great until then. It' over 85 much of the year here in the Houston area.

MeGuiars ....Hich Tech #26 i do believe is what i use on the Black Rune. Looks fantastic. I go ahead and "waste" that good wax on Sherry's old ugly red Rune too.... On all my bikes...i only wax them now days every year or two. The rest of the time, it's.....LEMON PLEDGE for me for my monthy 'waxing'. Looks good...goes on easy....doesn't streak.....and the bike smells lemony fresh for a day or two... Seriously, i had not waxed my valk in THREE years....until about a month ago. nothing but Lemon pledge for the last three years on it...........

Liquid Glass
Used it many moons ago on sports cars, got away from it. Heard about a guy using it on his bike, it rang a bell so I got some. It is a wipe on wipe polymer. Easy on, easy off, nice DEEEEP shine.

I never thought of that Lyn-Del. However, in Indiana temps don't stay that high. I have Rejex on the Valk and sidecar, second year, and it's still good to go. The finish is still slick. I had a detail shop apply my Rejex last year on the Miata and it also is still doing the job. In fact, the detail shop is using Rejex on their customers cars now. 'Nuff said.

Generally, I fall right in behind Daniel on the old clean and wax. I do however clean and wax occasionally. More so now that I've discovered the before mentioned No-Wet product, or as sold by our member Joe in Michigan, Joe's Juice. I carry the Joe's Juice spray bottle in the bike, and it makes a quick cleanup a breeze. I also use it on my truck. I don't however think its as good a wax(and it does contain wax), as other wax products. For real waxing, I use Tech Wax: http://meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+G12718-Scott

can't recal the name and I'm not at home right now, but check with a RV dealer-the wax I use (white pint bottle with blue printing) is for sold/marketed for RVs and airiplane canopies and lasts a long time. Guess the theory is after waxing an RV ya don't want to do it again-ever, and you can't step out of a plane too often during a flight to wash the windows A bottle lasts me years since I only wax the bike every 20k miles You hot weather guys might want to try mold release wax for fiberglass molds-made to handle over 200° temps during curing without coming off, buffs to a good shine but not like the old Rain Dance or current "wet look" polishes.

Lyn-Del, I have used most waxes dating back on cars and bikes. About (5) years ago I discovered a system that always looks great and is a deeeeeep gloss finish. The first is called Black Pearl light compound #3 that is used at the beginning of the regular riding season here in Indiana, it removes all of the grime and light scratches. Next I use Black Pearl final finish that creates a deep gloss shine and durable protection. Through the season I simply use " ICE " synthetic spray-on detailer and have found nothing that shines like this for a quick shine and ride. Hope you find what your looking for.

Rejex works great as far as I am concerned. I use microfiber cloths for washing and just use warm water to get the bugs and road grime off.

I will agree with Scott on this one. Tech Wax (liquid) and their spray detailer. Great shine on black.

Amazing! Another rider who appreciates RejeX. I would've mentioned the easy cleanup but no one would believe it anyway. Thanks Madmike
