That term refers to using a automobile tire on the rear of your bike. As opposed to lightside for a regular motorcycle tire. Has to do with the Starwars movies. Hoser

The Dark Side is putting a car tire on the rear of your bike Look on the Shoptalk page to find Daniel Meyer's article on this. Double Dark Side is putting a car tire on the rear and a rear motorcycle tire on the front. Don't count on getting the cookie, it's not going to happen. You can, if you do this, get your VRCCDS number from Dark Meister... Fred.

Wolf,
I made a tire machine and tire tool and put my own Falken Zeix on. You live about an hour and half away. I would be happy to show you what I did or even help you with it if you don't mind the drive.

I do not have pics of my tire changer and tools. I could take some pics and start a new thread for that if there is an interest but I got the idea from one of these forum boards. Maybe I can locate that thread and post it.

Gryphon Rider posted the thread that started me thinking about making a tire changer. His post is here: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,31087.0.html I made mine so it mounts in the hitch of my truck instead of bolting to the workbench or the floor. Also made a couple of other small differences. Bigwolf

I have 22,000 miles on my darkside Falcan tire still like new. I will never go back to that silly unsafe way too small for the bike tire, that wears out in 7 thou miles. by the way I put my own tires on, it is easier than you think. Break the old bead by driving over the edge of the tire with your car.
