Being a trucker, I see texting all the time.  No matter what laws are passed, this will be a constant problem.   When I bought my cell, I told them not to include texting.  I am just as bad as anyone else whenever the cell makes a noise.  Natural curosity takes over and you want to see whats going on.  I have had people walking toward me almost run into me because of texting.  Until someone REALLY important gets hurt or killed while texting, nothing will be done. Even then, I kinda doubt it.  A lot of people just don't have the respect for others and responsiblilty to put the thing down and finish what your doing, then answer or text, in a safe enviroment.   And, yes I always use a bluetooth in my truck.  Besides it being company and DOT policy, it keeps both of my hands on the wheel.

I have a friend who's wife killed a biker while texting. Bad Bad Bad for everybody involved.  Cry

I spend a good bit of time running up and down I-95 and it's apalling the number of drivers I see texting at Interstate speeds. And I hate say this but it's my truthful observation, most of them are women.  Cry

Unfortunately, I see it all the time. Most of the ones I see are teenage girls. For some reason they can't get enough gabbing done any other time so when they are apart, they have to text each other constantly Lips Sealed. It seems that as soon as that cell phone makes a noise, they go into this trance like state, kind of like the Twilight Zone, and they just have to see what the damn thing says. After that it's all down hill. The ones that really get me are the ones with a cup of coffee in one hand, a cigarette in the other, talking to their friends, and texting all at the same time. You want to talk about a accident waiting to happen!!  crazy2

I got a better one than that glideman.  In San Antonio, I saw a woman changing a baby's diaper.  One time got passed by a car reading the newspaper and drinking coffee.   crazy2

i hope she lost her cell phone in the water, but i'm pretty sure she'll sue the city 'cause they didn't have a " CAUTION! do not text and walk" sign.

Now if we could just figure out how to have something similar happen to all those texting while driving.

We've got Arizona bike Week starting today and I see someone imported a fresh crop of idiots. I saw a guy texting while riding a motorcycle yesterday.  I came close to pulling up along side him and soving him over with my foot.  STUPID people really annoy me.

I hate them also, scared one bad a couple months ago, some dude texting and looking at some paper at the same time, dammed near side swiped me. I have train horns on the truck, gave him a blast, and he went off roading. No damage I could see,  bet it will be a while before he does that again.
