I was wondering if anyone besides me has had a heart bypass. I had a quadruple in Dec. 2009 and feel great since then. Smiley

No bypass.....but kidney cancer.  They cut me open in 2005 and took my kidney out.  Have a foot long (or a little longer) diagonal scar across my gut.  Hurt like nobody's business when they yanked out all of those staples.   Shocked

Yeah, a triple at age 64....can't believe it's been ten years this June. They admitted me the night before my wife's birthday, so the following year on her birthday she had one big question: "honey, what are you giving me this year for my birthday?" Told me it had better not be a repeat....it wasn't. Been good ever since, but the cardiologist drives me nuts.

Funny thing...I have a golfing neighbor that is one day younger than me and every health problem he's had, within a couple months I've had it. We joked about it until one day he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and he asked when I had mine scheduled. Told him on this one he's on his own!

I HAD 5 (FIVE) bypass in 08 as I had my heart stopped for 2 min. and 28 sec. After helo ride to Ashland, Ky.  They were not satisfied and put in a defibulator.  Had my prostate removed by DaVinci robot also at Ashland, Ky. just over a month ago. I am doing well with a bad case of PMS for about 8-10 days when I get my 99 I/S green/silver CSC trike back from light replacement and storage.  I am having more trouble with the PMS than either of the surgeries.  This hurts in places that don't normally hurt in humans.  Looking forward to the Hillbilly ride in my old working stomping grounds around Southern WV. and Va. One stent in '97, triple bypass in '99, 2 stents in '02 then had a small stroke shortly after last 2 stents.  Had to go off work on dissability after the stroke.  A few years later I divorced.  All the plumbing seems to be happy now.

Had a triple done in October 2007 at age 61. No heart attack, found it going through tests for other things. Three surgeries to correct a lower abdominal aneurysm. Finally under control, I think.

Glad to be here.

Blew out my Mitrial valve in 2007, Was lucky they rebuilt it with what was left of my valve and a 36mm. ring. It was done with the davinchi robot also, drove myself home from the hospital 4 days later. All was good till 10/11, had to have an radio freq. ablation for atrial flutter, all good so far.

Double in 2007, 48 years old. No heart attack.
Father died at 56 from heart attack, older brother had heart attack at 48.
Dads brother had massive heart attack at 39.
My genes suck, by the way my cholesterol was 150 at the time of surgery.

Umm, you might ought to, sometimes ppl don't get a chance to do that! A buddy of mine just 50 dropped dead at work with no heart  trouble whatsoever, he worked out, ate the right foods, wasn't over weight a bit , always active and a picture of health- then bammm, his aorta burst.

Just sayin.... Smiley

Not so much, my buddy wasn't even around welders. But you did get me thinking of the times I burnt 50 lbs of rods a day with little ventilation....that couldn't be good!  Shocked

Stint put in September of 99. Had very familiar chest pains in December of 99, had a single bypass performed on the widow maker. I was 47 at the time. 30 days after surgery I took out my buddies new Valkyrie and bought my current ride 45 days later.

Three stinking lumbar surgeries on the same disc.  I suggested that the docs install a zipper to simplify the procedure.
