Okay... so I know how its suposed to be in the Inerstate tank, wires to rear, the unit to the rt side, front of tank.

But can you'll indulge me with one more dumba_ _ question?

How the heck do you get the unit in the tank.
First of all the hole is just barely big enough for the white plastic parts that the float arm attached through to go in

second, once I jimmy it around to get it almost through the float gets caught up and won't let me get it in.

Jeezz

if this was my girlfriend she'd be leaving me for another guy - and I wouldn't blame her !

The Interstate tank is a new one I bought off e-bay, don't know year,
got sending unit same way, don't know the year of that either, but I can't imagine this is something they would change.

I'm replacing standard tank with Insterstate, and have a motosens guage set so it would be nice to have the gas gauge working.

thanks

Okay......
Now I really feel stupid.   Walked away, had a beer,  came back and it went right in.

Go figure......

Hi Mike,

Did you use the sender the way it was designed or did you bend it and install it backwards? Does this make any sense? If not then this thread may help: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,35073.msg371478.html#msg371478

Why would you not install correctly?  The Motosens match OEM gauges.

cooldude Got it. I couldn't use Motosens for my fuel gauge so I improvised.
