Water in drool tube
«
on:

When I drained the drool tube, clear water came out. I was expecting
oily dirty drool. What do you think I should be looking for?
Was getting ready to pull the tank and pods, check the vac lines and do
a general clean up and inspection anyway.

I'd guess it's from humidity. Cycles of heating and cooling draw water in and it condenses. If you're going into the air box, check it out but I wouldn't worry about it. Out here in DRY Arizona, I've only drained my drool tube once since 2003 and it was empty then. No humidity.

Mine is always an oil/crud and water mix, and I do it 5-6 times a year, and I always get stuff out.

Most of the times MGM has been an oily filmed water. Other times it has been just plain ole water.
I wouldn't worry about it. Just drain it when needed. That is what it was planted there for, a drainage pipe.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

drain it a few times a year and don't worry about it. I've had a gunky slime crud come out and other times like last fall when colder out I drained it after riding at night in the fog and dampness out after work around midnight a lot and about 6-8 ounces of liquid came rushing out. It kept coming out and out and thought it would never end.

I suspect it's water from washing. I haven't put 500 miles on it yet. Met the
PO to pick it up at an independent MC shop where he had taken it to be detailed and have the fluids changed.
Appreciate the input!
