First I would like to thank Fordmano and Steve K for their input on how to wire the amp.

I contacted Electrical Connection to place an order for the amp, but they said they were trying to contract a new vendor for the 4 channel amp. Out of Stock. So off to Ebay and i bought a Pyle 4 channel 400 watt amp for $62 shipped. cooldude

I did buy the pop eliminator and rear speaker wire harness for a goldwing, which also works on the valkyrie. This harness installs behind the right side cover and runs 2 sets of wires to the fairing. One set sends signal into amp and 2nd set returns the amplified signal back to rear speakers. And it was only $14.95 p/n 03112

I drilled and tapped 2 holes in the upper tree with a 5/16-24 tap for mounting brackets to hold the amp, and used 2 L-brackets that I bought at Home Depot. I then bent the brackets until there was enough clearance between speedometer and fairing.

I ran power to the Accessory wire benind the the right cover, and ground to the battery neg. the amp turns off when I remove the key, that way I don't kill the battery.

I already had the Polk Audio DB-501 5 inch speakers front and back. And now they sound Awesome

Looks great!

You may want to dab some dielectric grease around the terminals and in the connectors to prevent water/oxidation.

Just wired up a 300 watt rockford fosgate punch in my fairing. Just wish i would have taken the time to learn how to pull the front of the farring off. Just hsve it zipp tied in there for now. Any instruction on how to get the front of the fairring off so i can make a proper bracket?

What are you doing to protect the amp from water seepage from the top of the faring?  I would consider mounting a light piece of sheet aluminum or plastic that is folded over the top of the amp but provides a little breathing room for heat dissipation.

Thanks spidyj

That is Fords park right after Woodbridge center mall.
I grew up in Newark, but have lived in union for 17 years now.
I'm over by the Shoprite on Morris ave.

We do a Vietnam Vets charity Motorcycle run out of Warnaco park every September

To remove the fairing, you have to remove the lower bolts that hold the turn signals
And the 4 windshield bolts and the 2 screws under the windshield. Unplug turn signal and headlight wires. There are two screws on the speedometer that have to come out also.

Steve
The amp is mounted in that dead area just above the Headlight assembly and behind the Speedometer cluster. I think water seepage in that area would not accure. And even if it did, the amp I used is a waterproof Marine Amp made by Pyle. Next time i have the speaker panels or fairing off the bike I will give it a look see, but i think it should be OK.

Excellent Job Sir! Cool  coolsmiley  Cool

Glad I could be of help on your quest for VOLUME! Shocked Evil

I couldn't mount mine exactly like you did due to the ballasts for the HID lighting I installed for headlights.

Again Great job and glad to be of service. cooldude cooldude
