My original 15 year old passenger seat and pillion is faded to a mottled black/brown color.  How can I restore it to the shiny black of a new seat.  I replaced the driver seat because of a rip 2-3 years ago, it's fine. Can't replace the passenger seat because I would lose the "Made In USA" Honda logo.

Guessing the passenger seat and the BACKREST? Maybe you can get some black leather dye and go over it. Try not to hit the "MADE IN USA".  cooldude

There are original seat sets on the clasifieds all the time.  Put a wanted ad in and Im sure you will get a couple offers.  They are not leather, leather dye wont work well.  Vinyl treatments will help but it wont be permamnent and may make the seat very slick

ok banger I got it.  The pillion is the passenger seat and the backrest is the BACKREST.  Now how do I restore the glossy black of the vinyl?

Even with vinyl, a bit of Kiwi black shoe polish on wet/wrung soft cotton cloth will make it black again.  Use as little polish as possible.  When done, buff with damp clean cotton.

Doc Baileys will probably also work.  https://www.leatherclear.com/cgi-bin/store/pid_01.htm

I've used Mother's Back to Black and like it real well.  You can use it on vinyl, but it says it's for exterior use.  Maybe try a dab underneath the seat.  I know it will turn it black, but it may also make it slippery.  I can't think of why else they would say exterior use.

Wash the seat... remove any grime. Test the following it in a hidden area of the seat:

Spray the White foam stuff used to "clean" tires on a bundled piece of cloth. Apply it to the test area.  Undecided
If you like the results do the whole seat.  You're done. Cheesy

I use this product every time I detail my vehicles.  The result is a healthy Black look without the fake shine of similar stuff.  ???
I also apply it to my truck's engine bay after a wash. It makes all hoses, wires, etc look new.  Embarrassed Roll Eyes

Dave;
Just go to any of the major auto parts stores. Go to the cleaning and detailing products shelf. Look for tire cleaner foam in spray can. It's about $4-$6.  Cheesy

There is a couple of brand names, (can't recall). Any would be fine as long as it is FOAM TIRE CLEANER.  tickedoff

It is the kind made for the lazy bones... to spray your car tires and drive away w/o wiping. Roll Eyes
