Hey all,

My name is Dave, and I am a new Valkyrie owner.  I'm 26 (I know, I dont fit the sterotype.) and I absolutely love my Valkyrie!  I work at a motorcycle shop here in Dover, DE and when it came in, I had no desire to purchase it.  I was riding a 2008 YZF-R1, and my only intrest in the machine was to see what the buzz was about with the flat six motor.  Well needless to say I rode it, then traded in my R1 for it.  It's a sweet sweet machine!  Never ridden anything like it, ever!  I have a '99 Valkyrie Interstate with 50,500 miles and still going strong!

I wanted to stop by and say hey, and introduce myself, and I see this bike in my future for a long LONG time.

Take care guys, nice to meet you all.  Smiley

First of all, welcome to the VRCC!

It's great to see someone of the younger generation carrying on the torch for the Valkyries! Yes, they are a great and unique machine! There's a tremendous wealth of information here and many very knowledgeable people as well.

As many will probably say,,, Welcome to the Madness!!  Grin

...Welcome Dave, and great decision you made, you wont be sorry. Dont worry about your age, this place is all about riding one of the best machines on the road today and we dont care how old the operator is. I also have a State, that I bought new out of the crate back in 01. Just turned over 90K miles on it, and plan to have it for the rest of my life. There are many good people here, and a wealth of information, so stick around and tell us of your adventures on your new machine my friend.  cooldude

Welcome to the VRCC, Dave.  Should you have any problems with your Valk, there are folks here that know where each and every part goes and how many bolts hold it on.  As for age, most of us are about 26 with variable amounts of hair and different shades of gray.  Again, I say welcome...Jim Grin

Hey and thanks for such a warm welcome.  I've been out riding around!  I let the fiance take my car so I could ride all day.  Hehe  2funny  I work at Diamond Motor Sports here in Dover, for the member who asked.  Selling bikes for a living is really freakin sweet!  Especially when bikes like these come in.  I paid $3800 for this beautiful piece of machinery!

Again guys, thanks so much for such a warm welcome.

I had a gentleman offer me $7500 for it the day after I bought it.  When I had bought it the condition of the crome will be left out as to not upset anyone here, because it's beyond me how someone could let such a beautiful work of art go untouched for so long.  I've got about 9 hours of elbow grease in it, and shes looking nice and pretty now.  As far as how I got it so cheap I work at a dealership and the owner traded it on on a Harley, so we gave him book trade in $3810.  Then I picked it up for cost.  But it looked NOTHING like you see in the picture..  thats after 9 hours of elbow grease... mostly steel whool on the chrome.  Cool

Welcome as well.  What an awesome deal, well worth 7500.  You won't ever loose a dime on that deal even in your such young lifetime might even outlast you to a ripe old age.  Going from an R1 to a Valk is giving up some speed, but much more comfort and smooth power.  You could get 4-5 Valks for that price of one HD.  Congrats!!!

To steal a line from Sheryl Crow, The secret is not getting what you want, but wanting what you got.  Congrats on the purchase and "wanting" the Valkyrie.  You will not be disappointed.  I should be passing throuigh Dover sometime in late June, maybe we can catch some wind then.  Till then, ride safe and ride often.

Sounds like you got a smokin' deal on that great looking valk....sure you didn't steal it 2funny  I just got my '01 interstate last november and have put 1K miles on it already.   Hey I'm in N/W Ohio and our winters are normally not this nice but I did ride every month since I've bought it.

I know the feeling about liking the ride more and more every time I roll her out of the garage.   Like everyone has mentioned before take the little woman out for a ride the valk is made for 2 up touring.

Let the mods begin:
