...but everyone here should pick up this months edition of Wired magazine and check out the cover story on the NSA's Utah Data Center. (The Black Box). It's amazing, awe inspiring and terrifying all at the same time.

As the fear grows, so do the things we should fear.   I wish they weren't building it, but what can be done otherwise?  If one incident happens that might have been prevented by a code breaking system, then a mob of people will ask, why didn't we have something, or someway to monitor those behaviors.   "We should have done more."

The problem is, in my opinion, the "bar" keeps getting raised, and will continue to be raised until, there is revolt, or absolute submission, and the law abiding citizens become walking, medicated clones without individual thoughts or actions.    I don't think that will happen overnight, but I do wonder.

Someone hand me a shovel, I have to go dig on my underground bunker!!  LOL

On a side note:  I have a friend in Raleigh, of foreign descent, from an area near Israel.   He is a good person, and his family are good people.  They did a lot of high end contracting, both in the US and overseas.  Suel would call my cell phone, and invariably, I would say to him at the start of the conversation,  "the dog is on the mountain,"  he hated it, and lived in fear of the proverbial black cars in front of his business.  He said there was a black ford that stayed in front of his office for days at one point.  I need to call him...and remind him perhaps about the dog!  angel

The 2'nd article is very cool and the first good energy news I've read in years. The first one seems to have came about from "Orwell's guide to better government".

Here's another take on it...

http://www.forbes.com/sites/lorenthompson/2012/03/20/nsas-secret-data-center-is-a-threat-but-only-to-americas-enemies/

Here's my take on it... I've written software that at one time analyzed every email message
that came into clemson.edu to see if it is spam. But I've never personally read other
people's email off the mail spool. Having computers statistically analyze great gobs
of stuff isn't the same as spying on me personally, even if a little dab of that
stuff is mine...

It's less about the practical uses and more about Constitutional protection no longer existing.

The thorium thing blows my mind. I understand why we didn't explore it 60 years ago but now? We should be all over that crap. It's an  article from 2009.
