Generally speaking, how long do your brake pads (front and rear)? I know they will wear based on usage, type of pad, riding styles, etc. but just want to get some general guidelines. I do a lot of highway riding without much city (read stop and go) and it seems like my pads (standard Honda OEM type). I'm getting over 30K per set of pads. Just wondering what other's experiences have been.

On my road bikes, the brake pad life approaches that of yours. If ridden around town, expect about half as much - or less, depending on whether you're riding 2-up or not.

Depends on how you ride.
I use the gears mainly, and usually use the rear brakes, more than the fronts.
I watch carefully how I use the brake to maximize wear.
I change out my pads way before they are worn completely to maximize wear on the rotors also.
Honda pads are the best, hands down, for low noise, wear and brake performance.

I just changed both fronts and rear pads for the first time at 38k and they probably had a few more thousand in them, but we were doing a week trip over 3,000 miles and I didn't need the agrivation to worry about.

I ride mostly two up and city driving.  Get approximately 15000. I changed them before they hit the wear bars because back tire was off.  Nail in tire in less than one year.  That sucked.   Cry
