I posted this on the Tech board but know more people look at this board.

The 10mm bolt that goes into the tranny cover is rounded. The cover in question is the clutch side cover. (Its the one on the right in the pic). Any one ever have a problem removing this. How did you do it. Thanks

vise grip pliers might help. If not you might have to drill it out and replace with a new one

Get a set of these at Sears, you may only use it once in a great while but it's a life saver. My wife got it for me as a b'day present a few years ago, best tool in the cabinet on the day you need it.  cooldude

+1 to what John said. It saved me getting the rear caliper bolt out that the PO had rounded off. If I never use em again, it was worth it to buy the set.

+ 1  I have a similar one from Harbor Freight and it has saved me a lot of time and trouble.

First off, LOTS of WD-40 and let it soak in over night. Next morning smack the bolt head with a hammer then try the vise grips again. Works for me every time.

They are not as cheap as the ones from sears but will allow more clearance as they are a socket and you can use a ratchet and extension. MAC tools sells them in socket form. Check your local dealer your local mechanic should have his number. They are a life saver. you can buy just the one you need and not the whole set if you want. I don't work for MAC just like a few of there tools and this is one of them.

As for a penetrating solvent / loosener I much prefer PB Blaster to WD 40.  It works like Voodoo.

If clearance will not allow the tools from above...... slot the bolt with a dremel and get a B--F---ing screw driver.
Naturally you will want a new bolt regardless of what you use.
I have made a habit of applying a dab of assembly lube on things to fight corrosion and other issues with frozen bolts, screws, and nuts.  I have having frozen nuts! 2funny

Well I called HF this morning to see if the truck came in. I went on their website so I could just give them the item number. Well, their website was down this morning. So I called. She said the computer showed 3. I asked her to physically check and she put me on hold. 10 minutes later I said "F" this and hung up. I went over there and they didnt have any in stock. The manager looked in the back and came out about 15 minutes later. He told me to try these. I have never seen or heard of them and it worked great. The Manager gave me 50% off since I waited so long cooldude Thats how business should be done. cooldude cooldude
