"this is my last election"....."I'll have more flexibility"...... "tell Vlad to give me some room".....

Obama to Medvedev, what you thought it was going to have a punch line?

(it has a punchline you just won't like it)

i don't know the context of the whole conversation but it does seem sneaky at face value.

"I have acquired political capital, and I intend to spend it". - Bush II

See? Bush II just came right out and SAID that he was gonna drive a legislative freight train.  2funny

I think much worse has been said by many presidents. Do a little digging on some of the "great" presidents and you might be shocked at what you come up with. Much worse has been said ON THE RECORD. Foreign policy is an extremely complicated piece of machinery and all I keep hearing is this quote taken out of context.

For the love of god can we quit acting like a bunch of wide-eyed virgin schoolgirls who are hearing the eff word for the first time? It's laughable.

i'm suggesting that you look at this president and the folks running against him for that matter and judge them based on their individual actions.  i don't care if other presidents did it or do it.  are you telling me that's just what presidents do (and should do)?  or maybe that's just the way you judge presidents behavior, by comparing them to other presidents?

Although you didn't ask me, I think the message he sent (based on what he has already done) is I can't give away the nuclear farm in an election year but, once I'm re-elected, we'll reduce our nuclear defense arsenal and capability.

But, the annoited one may have a tougher time even if he is re-elected, I believe both houses of congress are gonna go to the right.  If I remember my civic classes, the Senate must approve any treaties so that's already going to be an issue for him.

But, all this talk of Obama being easily re-elected is good, hopefully it'll make the libs stay home and bring out the conservative vote.  OK, now I'll go put on my flame suit.  Go fer it.

Not exactly. I'm saying that Presidents SAY all kinds of things. They lie to us, they lie to other politicians, occasionally they do what they say they're gonna do. I'm saying that the heads of state club is a very exclusive boy's club. I'm also saying that people (especially the ones that don't like whoever the current President happens to be at the time)  tend to react very negatively to just about ANYTHING they say.
