Never been in one, but got to see one up close and personal at a local Outback Restaurant of all places.  Guess he couldn't afford a real fancy steak dinner, just a normal one like normal middle class folks.

The Buggatti Veyron goes it in 267.8 so whats the difference in the standing mile? When I was a kid my dad knew the people that raced the original gt40 and to see this car on the road is really great. But the one thing I did notice was you had better look down when you are walking otherwise you may trip over the car. Its is so low about waist height as I remember.

It was called GT40 because it was 40 inches high.

At my last job, we were prevledged to have two in our lab for testing.
The one thing that surpised me is that they are not that hard to enter/exit. Of course I wasn't wearing a skirt either!

The original beat Ferrari and finished in the top three positions in the grueling Le Mans 24 Hours in 1966. Won Le Mans 24 hours from 1966 thru 1969...........

The Bihari is the fastest car in the world. But, the hit 267 on vws test track in Germany down a 5 1/2 mile long straightaway. Not just a 1mile shootout. The mile is all you get. No room before to build up speed. You have 1mile to start and finish. That's it. The Bihari, couldn't even come close. Because of 4th, 5th and 6 th gearing, it needs some room to break 250

I "think" the standing mile is 0-257 in a mile....the Veyron uses more than a mile to reach 267......again, that's what I "think" and could be wrong.......
