"Fleet Mechanic Joe" has given graciously of his time once again this week.
First was me swapping out the worn out Metzeler for a Falken.
In doing so we found that I should have done some final drive maintenance before now.
Luckily it was caught before damage would have ruined my day.

The pretty rust color makes it look much worse than it was.

After cleaning, but before lube:

Grinding off the nut cage:

No more nut cage:

Adding Dyna Beads:

All buttoned up:

Today it was one of our newest members, Rick Yord's introduction to Joe's Valk Shop.
He came for lunch... and carburetor work  cooldude

Here's Joe & Wayne Decker leading us in search of food:

Joe showing Rick the fine art of carb rebuilding:

Wayne monitoring the progress and acting as bouncer:

Many thanks to Joe and the dedication he has to the community, I know anyone that has had the pleasure of working along side of him has learned a thing or thirteen.

Now I gotta go... I think I left my lights on. Wink

I would also like to thank Joe, I do not usually associate with other riders much, but it was enjoyable to ride with you guys on Friday and learn a little more about my bike. Thanks Joe. I will talk soon. RY.
