Good price point, 6 bucks and change, gasket fits like OEM, did not like the SuperTech filter, the gasket always stuck and the filter did not come off easily. I was happy to see Fram makes them and Wally World carries them! The filter tool doesn't fit as well, but what the heck, can't have everything!

I saw a cut away comparrison and the Fram filters were all cardboard inside and didnt look as well made as the Super Tek which were BTW almost indistinguishable from a $12 oem on the inside.

I use OEM filters when possible, but a lot of folks shy away from the Fram.  I use Purolator when necessary.

The Purolator Pure One filters are still made in the USA and are one of the highest rated filters. I find them at Pep Boys for $6.49. Part #PL14610 (3.25") and PL14612 for the standard length (2.5") short filter.

Bah, I've used Fram's PH8A on my Explorer for 250,000 miles and no problems, not sure I'd say they were shite, but what do I know Smiley Thanks for the tips, I like the idea of the Pilot's filter...especially the 3 1/4" one, beer cans fit better...

I have a Honda I/S and a Shadow ACE, both use the same filter. On the Shadow site they posted a comparison on quality of filters and brands, Purlator One was top of the list but others very close.

Can't say I'm a fan either!  Sad   Too much research has shown better products for essentially the same money.

You can get these from www.advanceautoparts.com and by getting $50 worth (8 pcs) and using code A123 ($20 off $50) at checkout, you get them down to $4.49 each (before tax) and can then pick them up at the store.
When they're on sale, you can do much better.

When I go to advanceautoparts.com  and search for Purolator Pure One PL14610, I get 0 results. If you could post a specific link to the page with the filters I would be greatful.

They always want to match a part against your vehicle.
If you choose a 2002 Honda Civic LX, it'll accept your search.
